I don't think so, but I'd have to issue at least one condition: that it be about other fantasy creatures. I've written a lot of stories where mers exist in the same world as other mythological beings, but if she lived in a world where all she ever knew existed were other merpeople, then yeah. I could see her reading that kind of fantasy. Even better if she's reading about humans! Oooo, meta~
