Batophobia: the fear of heightsOH I HATE HEIGHTS! this is making fun of my trip with my outdoor adventure class to a Ropes Course. i was scared out of my &%#@ wits!!! the zipline was at LEAST 30 ft off the ground, if not more. Everything else ranged btw 20 & 30 feet off the ground. if it's taller than me, it's HIGH! my friend got some pictures of me swingin down the zipline.

I hate ziplines, and I was on the high ropes course at this camp I went to? I had to do the entire thing. Because people were behind me. And I still got stuck several times.
Simply staring at the ground and screaming.

I didn't even trust the harness I was in, and I was all

i remember going on one of those... it was so scary! the zipline was kinda fun... but the rest was awful....
and i thought the fear of heights was acrophobia... batophobia is the irrational fear of being near something that is very tall (ie, a sky scraper, a telephone pole, or Shaq)
either way... heights are scary!

This reminds me of some kind of climbing parcour I went to with my sister last year - she is afraid of heights and wanted to cure herself with that parcour, and asked me to come with her. There were 10 stations, going from 1,5 metres height to 13. We started together, but she went only through the first four stations, while I still insisted on going up the highest one although it was raining and everything was wet and slippery
It was fun for me, but didn't cure my sisters fear of heights

You know what really creeps me out is when your driving on of those mountain passes where on side is like a vertical drop of a couple thousand feet and the road is very windy and there's just the guard rail and when it's dark. Ugh.
But beside that I don't have much of a problem with heights.

I feel your pain. I have a fear of heights myself and when I went to this Rock Climbing practing place or whatever it was, with my family when I was probably 8 or 9 I had to propel down the side of a cliff side that I can't remember how high it was, but it scared the crap out of me so bad. DX The first time though I ended up getting my hair caught in the stupid rope lock thing above me all the while wondering when it would all be over. The fifth panel reminds of those people who MAKE it would easy to do all that. D<

What's funny is I know people who make it; and my friend was voted the "guinea pig" so they put her in a harness and had her test everything to make sure it worked

Aww! I know EXACTLY how that feels! My class was at a retreat and it was either "flying" or jumping off a 25 ft. pole..I chose flying. But I have a severe fear of heights too, like you anything taller than me is too high. 
That aside, I love this, it's so funny

Surprisingly I had fun flying, what WASN'T fun was when they lifted me up in the air, let's just say I was like you on the zipline.

exactly! climbing up that freaky pole was one of the most mortifying things i've ever done. but if i hadn't let myself get so freaked out i may have had fun going down the zipline!
