Hey, I was wondering how you do your outlines, specifically in your more recent lewd art post of December. I'm stuck in my hard black outline style and I want to know if you have a particular technique for doing those outlines that produce a much better soft-light effect

well hey lets take a look at how i did that

that’s the process i do to make a good colored line art. I included the steps about color and effects and adjustments and whatever because it is actually important to your question specifically about making the line art look soft.

by making the line art with a brush that varies in opacity, the lines will blend into the color better. and coloring the line art using several colors will also effect its appearance. and by putting all your shadows and lights and effects above the line art, the line art will be affected by those and have even more degrees of color and brightness. the overlay layer increases the contrast and pushes the effects you already have even further while also binding the whole piece together to make it look more cohesive. and then the final adjustments just kinda wrap it all up.
