This is beautiful, i love the color palette you chose. The textures and brushes are amazing too, and the actual image itself is so cute and realistic like, that it is quite a stunning picture. But, i love steampunk, so i might be a bit biased.. However, you should be proud, it's coming along wonderful, and i for one will add it to my favorites, while i'm sure many others have too. Congrats on being such a good artist. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="366" title=" (Big Grin)"/>
By the way, can you make a tutorial for this kind of art? I can't seem to find one for this style of art.. Thanks.. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>

I have a big love for dogs. I love this art. This seems like a robot dog with a jellyeyefish. Well, this is so original, and this art got a big technique. I like your style, because you're original, and my vision is 5 stars. But you need more emotion, more impact in this art. I'm not sayin' that the art is bad, no. But, for me, it needs more emotion/feeling to impress your audience. Resume of it all: You're so artistic, and your art is beautiful. I love dogs, and I love your style. Goodbye and see you later! :3

I think the title "Steam-punk Dog" is a bit misappropriate for this particular piece. The Steam-punk genre consists of manipulations of gears, cogs, and steam related gadgets to form either a mechanical or pseudo-organic form. The dog as a model for this picture seems hardly inorganic and dosen't contribute towards the intended Steam-punk nature. The vision seems well intended, but it does not seem cleverly done.
As for originality, the theme is a common one nowadays. Steam-punk has becoming fairly popular in the coming years so originality depends on what the artist can do with it. I am lead to believe that the wheels and patterns of the like are meant to represent this aspect, but almost take away from the original picture. The colors are odd and add a little to the originality.
As for technique, I think you have very good skills and knowledge of organic figures. The painting is well done except for maybe a bit on the right ear. Everything is well drawn for the most part, but the wheel design irks me a bit. They seem, in a sense, flat on the picture. This takes away from the image of the dog a bit.
As for impact, the look and the head of the dog are fairly striking. However, not much in the image strikes as intriguing. The dogs position in the image is good and adds to the composition.
In all, the image is pleasant, but not steam-punk.
Regards,
Charlaton-Ghost

The artwork of this is creative. The "Steampunk" look on this dog reminds me of a detailed robot. When I read the title, however, I was hoping for something more climatic. That is the reason the Impact is 4.5.
I like the color of the eyes, and the exaggerated eyelashes. The bright blue color pulls the art viewer into the picture. I have seen this style before, but never with watercolor. So, I give it a 4.5 in originality.
The vision of this picture, I give five stars. The dog is cocking it's head, and is on the verge of growling, while having a slight smile.
Finally, the technique. By looking at this painting, I can tell it was done with watercolors. It is incredibly realistic in shading and shapes, but is not very realistic with colors. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)"/> So, I give this five stars.
All in all, I give this a 19/ 20 Congratulations.

I love anything steampunk, and when I stumbled apon this, I fell in love with this cute dog. It's steampunk, but nothing like any steampunk I've ever seen. It's incredibly detailed and brightly colored. I just might have to create some words that explain how wonder ful this is.
