I did this today, because I wanted to do another fractal, and I sort of see this as how I feel
In order to give all due credit where it's due, Originally, I got the texture and color for the surrounding part from [link] and the coloring for the center from [link] using Apophysis's "Color Pallete" feature. It's hard to see it now, since I did some color tweaking in gimp as I combined two fractals.
*EDIT* Changed the name, because I think it applies more...

*shrugs* I don't know how to explain it... I mean, I mostly just guess at using Apophysis. I'm no expert in it, I just sort of click buttons till it looks good, render it, then post work it in Gimp.

hmm.. so that's how you did it. thanks for the explaination on how you did it. I had experience with computer graphics before but really, err.. the term apophysis is new to me but for what you did on your factual art is creative and unique at the same time.

Apophysis is a fractal rendering program. You basically get "flames" in the window, and you can use parameters to tweak the "math" that generates them. Some people, especially those in the Apophysis group know a lot more about the program and maybe the math behind it, but all I do is click buttons till something good shows up

Looking at it, to me it looked like an x-ray picture with a colored heart or brain - which I think is totally awesome, so please don't take it offensively. Fractals are pretty cool...

I see that one to. Honestly, when I describe art, it's an opinion for fractals at least. Because they're so abstract it's hard to make one with only one view. And I like both.
