Most people know that I'm a huge fan of Madoka Magica. Some people have trouble with this because it at first looks like cutesy magical girl show, though its actually intensely dark with fantastic characterization, stakes, and concise writing that makes Gen Urobuchi one of my favorite writers up there with Neil Gaiman. However what it doesn't have is world building, I eat world building for breakfast. The more bizarrely alien in terms of species and culture, the better. with exception of the Incubators Madoka doesn't have that. Enter TakerFoxx.

You know how a lot of Fanfiction has an original character placed into the world of the original story? Resonance Days does just the opposite by throwing by favorite ship into a bizzare land inhabited by ghosts, wild girls, flying cities, Brothels the size of cities, and some of the most bizarre aliens I've had the pleasure of struggling to picture outside of Lovecraft. There's even a side story with a magical dance off! And it does this all by staying true to the characters in the original show and exploring their outlooks on the world and all the details that were mentioned in one way or another in the show but cant truly be explored without the long term close narration Foxx uses. Even the OCs (such as the two villains at the top) are fascinatingly well done and make a perfect foil team to our heroes (Take note Brian K. Vaughan!)

In short TakerFoxx is an amazing writer and has an original story coming up about dreams which I want a copy of as soon as it comes out. But until then we'll just have to enjoy these stories. www.fanfiction.net/u/2281223/T…
