Description
The beginning sound of the song “Meet Virginia” could be heard playing in the background. The stereo began belting out the first fraction of the song.
She doesn't own a dress, Her hair is always a mess, You catch her stealin' she won't confess, She's Beautiful…
“I don’t own a dress… I don’t think. I usually like to keep my hair nice, not messy. I don’t steal… I’d like to think I’m beautiful. Am I beautiful?”
You’d never wear a dress, even if you did have one. Your hair isn’t exactly neat, but I wouldn’t call it full out messy. You steal air from the people around you, if there ever are people around you. No, you’re not beautiful.
She hummed the rest of the song quietly while she waited for the chorus to come. This was her favorite part.
Well she wants to be the Queen…
“I want to be the Queen.”
Who are you kidding, you are no queen.
“But I want to be one.”
You’ll never be one.
Then she thinks about her scene…
“Scene? Like a movie scene?”
No, stupid, your shitty life around you.
Pulls her hair back as she screams…
“I don’t like pulling my hair back. I like it when it hangs down long. I don’t think I scream too much, either.”
No, you just annoy.
I don't really wanna be the Queen.
“But I do want to be the Queen.”
Why?
“Because if I was the Queen, I’d be beautiful, and own a dress, have neat hair, and not be lonely, and if I wasn’t lonely, then maybe I wouldn’t be stealing the air from people around me, but rather sharing it with them.”
The room was silent of voices, except for the continuation of the song.
Daddy wrestles alligators, Mama works on carborators, Her brother is a fine mediator, For the president. And here she is again on the phone, just like me hates to be alone…
“I hate being alone.”
You’re never alone, I’m always here.
“Which is almost equal to being alone.”
Shut up.
…We just like to sit at home, and rip on the President, Meet Virginia, Mmmm... Well she wants to live her life, Then she thinks about her life, Pulls her hair back, as she screams
“I don't really wanna live this life”
Do you ever think that?
“Humm? Think what?”
Do you ever think that you don’t want to live this life?
“Occasionally, but I get over it.”
She only drinks coffee at midnight, when the moment is not right. Her timing is quite, unusual. You see her confidence is tragic, but her Intuition magic, And the shape of her body? Unusual…
“Is the shape of my body unusual?”
It’s not your body that’s unusual.
Meet Virginia, I can't wait to meet Virginia, yeah e yeah hey hey hey…
Well she wants to be the Queen and then she thinks about her scene, Well she wants to live her life, then she thinks about her life, Pulls her hair back as she screams…
"I don't really wanna be the Queen"
I, I don't really wanna be the Queen…
“I’m not so sure if I really do want to be the Queen, anymore.”
Why is that? Realized it’d never happen?
“No. I realized I’d lose you.”
You hate me.
“Yes, but I can’t live without you.”
Sure you can.
“No. You’re kind of like a part of me. I might despise that part with every nerve in my body, but I still can’t live without you. You don’t know what I mean, do you?”
I do.
I, I don't really wanna be the Queen
I, I don't really wanna live this life…
