If you've been around in the past few days you might have noticed a meme going on, which was started, I believe, by =yumedust here: [link]In a nutshell, you choose a Disney Princess coloring page and then color it in the style/palette of a classic painting.
I found my Ariel lineart here -> [link]
And the painting I referenced was Isabella and the pot of basil by John White Alexander -> [link]
Painted in SAI, adjusted with Photoshop.

The coloring makes it look...sinister. Quite contrasting with Ariel's happy expression.
