Outwardly she doesn’t show much emotion, except for the occasional deadpan or rare (to others) small smile. Give her a lizard to hold and she’ll just stare at you and this reptilian creature you handed her out of nowhere.

She will always greet allies in a formal, respectful manner. She will address others as Mr, Ms, or Mx unless she’s told to stop and call them by their names (She doesn’t do this with auncles or parents though, it’s either ‘Mom’, ‘Dad’ or ‘Uncle/Aunt/Auncle ____’)

She may not be too expressive, or good at talking, but she does keep a friendly demeanor around her allies. Often willing to listen and try to engage in the conversation. Key word is try.

Do Elrena wrong somehow, and she will have great disdain for said cat. Eirena will not talk to that cat again so easily—if they were allies, or were neutral with each other.

She’s not one to find herself frazzled. Even if she ends up in a pickle, she’ll assess the situation and try to get herself out.

While she may be inhibited on the outside, much to anyone’s surprise, she’s actually more emotional than she lets on. She’ll be delighted when a peer or mentor figure notices her efforts, or if she receives praises. She’ll feel sad if anyone she cares about is sad, and angered on occasions. She just has a difficult time expressing her feelings much, or at least, chooses not to for most parts.

Backstory

It all starts with their mother, having been captured and taken to what Elrena knew as a bleak, frightening place…She was too young to truly know anything, just that her mother—-whenever she was around—-made it feel safe. At two months she knew then, that their mother had to literally fight for their survival, for them to have food and bedding, the more pleased the bad man was, the better the meal would be for them…She didn’t know why things were the way they were, but she could feel it deep down to be wrong…and scary…

The day things changed was also the day she and her siblings nearly lost their mother. She didn’t know how brutally her mother got mauled, nor did she know how her mother was saved in time…More humans and cats were here, and they took Elrena and her siblings away from the horrible place…

She came to know her mother had been hurt later, she and her siblings had to wait till she got better. So they did…and thankfully their mother came out of her ordeal alive, with some hindrances due to her injuries, but she had recovered, she and her siblings were relieved as they clung to her again.

Soon more of her mother’s friends and family arrived in what Elrena came to know as paradise, and her mom was happier…Eirena came to know some of these cats too, and was happy to see her father, found herself admiring the friends her mother made, intrigued by tales of the Empires…She’d notice nostalgic twinges in her mother’s face…did she still miss her old home?

Time went by, with a few of her mother’s friends choosing to head back where they came from for reasons best known to them…

And as much as she’d dislike seeing her mother and father saddened by her departure, she wanted to know what things were like for herself, to know if her mother and father’s old home was okay…

Only for a year.

She was right to be worried about her mother being saddened as she talked to her, asking if this is what she wanted to do…It wasn’t easy to outright say it, but she tells her it is. But Elrena was also ready to abandon her plans if it caused her too much hurt…

She didn’t protest any further…

Elrena promised she’d be back. Sooner than later. But she doesn’t leave her family without an embrace that lasted longer than usual.

And off she snuck into a traveling caravan, onwards to Massilla

Once she arrived, she navigates around the city for a bit before heading out of there, it took her days to find the Lightning Empire, but once she did, she didn’t hesitate to look at a few patrolling cats straight at their eyes, raise her head, and declare

“I wish to join”
