Just a question... why are there shiny TRAINERS? And why would a hippie be a Trainer?

Shiny trainer, this is new XD
Different coloration-trainers are there because in the original game I don't like that ALL the bugcatchers are identical, ALL the ladies, etc etc. So there are 3 colorations for each trainer type ^^
And why a hippie would be a trainer ... Well, why not? Hippies are very attached to nature, plants and animals, maybe ina Pokémon world they are attached to a Grass type Pokémon.

I thought of something... If you catch a Magikarp it's probably orange, right? Then if you evolve a Magikarp, you get a blue Gyarados. If you breed two Gyarados, you get a blue Magikarp. And if you evolve a blue Magikarp....?

I thought this too and here my solution: there are CANON color lines. Per Example: ORANGE Magikarp -> BLUE Gyarados, or ORANGE Charmander -> RED Charmeleon and ORANGE Charizard. When pokemon are bred, I look if the pokemon is in the canon color line.
That BLUE Gyarados will breed a ORANGE Magikarp because it is the canon color line. ^^

So for Magikarp and Gyarados...
Orange -> Blue
Yellow -> Red
Blue -> Yellow?
Red -> Orange?
