It was a very sad loss for the whole empire, but Kodiak, his father, was remembered fondly. Locke spends most his time seeking stories from older members of the empire about his father.

Despite the loss, Locke was born into a decently sized, and very loving, family, with three older sisters, five litter mates, and a mother who loves them all unconditionally.
