Description

The newly formed paratrooper corps requested a compact carbine for medium range combat. Β It is meant to use the standard infantry rifle ammunition but be much shorter, without losing too much of its ballistic capabilities.

This is what the ordnance department came up with.

Exactly. I've seen it used in some pump-forward shotguns like the Neostead and RMB-93, but the use in a bolt-action like this is clever (and sure beats the recoil of a blow-forward design)
