Grave of the Fireflies - Hotaru no Haka -another movie from Ghibli Studio which tells about how a 14 years old boy trying to survive with his 5 years old sister in a wartime period. It's a rather touching movie, and it has a great message on humanity and how bad war can affect one's life...
Setsuko, a child of 5 years old, so dependent on her brother and throughout the story it was really hard to not end up having deep sympathy to the character and it's portrayal. They suffered so much without the help of anybody, everybody was busy feeding and saving their ownself. It's war time, can't be helped...but still...
that's why, please don't easily spark conflict...do think further who might be affected and what might happen...
and it also reminded me that we are taking things for granted, this peace, this living, this era, it's a luxury if we compare them to 40-50 years ago...
well...that's why I wonder, why do we like war so much?
why do we think war so cool?
we reckon conquering other country as cool,
we reckon rebelling is upholding justice.
hmm...rant rant rant...

This movie was so sad... makes one think about war and its consequences...
With all the movies that come out that glorify war and violence, movies like this one are needed to keep us thinking about the human misfortunes it causes.

AGH!!! I LOVED that movie, my aunt told me about it, it was so sad!! even my mom liked it,(she was crying by the end) and she doesn't like anime very often. awesome job with the drawing its totally great

the medium should not be a problem anymore, it could be anime, cartoon, or whatever, as long story could have a meaning to someone...

she just objects to anime because so often they throw in weird stuff, which they kind of did in this, just with the ghosts and all, but it wasn't very weird and it was a totally incredible story.

begitu gampangnya manusia terbunuh dgn tembakan, ga jantan banget gitu,,,kalau mau ya duel hidup mati kali...
yeah ada sisi buruk propaganda game juga,betapa seramnya ketika byk yg teraddicted soal perang waktu counter strike sedang populer banget itu...
soalnya para penikmat game itu umumnya anak2 yg baru tumbuh dewasa,ditakutkan malah salah persepsi... Perang adalah hal tersedih sih
