Description Okay, there has been a slight change to the ending of "Once Upon a Wednesday"...

Originally, Blagden was going to commit suicide, but since he wanted to rule the world, it didn't quite fit. And I noticed it after ~greatcinalone23 pointed out that it was a bit odd.

And then, the newer ending I had seemed a bit odd to me, so I fixed it too.

So, now... it's even better.

After Blagden's troll fatally wounds Darryn, and after Edolie turns the troll to stone, Blagden knocks Edolie to the ground and takes the sacred rod. Suddenly, Wilona (who had been watching them with her pool of fire) breaks her law to always remain on the mountain, appears in a fiery rage, and grabs the rod out of his hand. She then tells him, "The blood of the innocent is on your hands. You have no right to hold this. The fire of your evil shall consume you."

Just then, she breaks the rod in half, and her hair becomes a huge snake, and eats the evil king for his crimes. The castle crumbles, and Broderick, Edolie, Darryn, and the others escape. Wilona turns into a small fireball, and guides Broderick and the others safely outside.

After the castle falls, the sorrow sets in. Darryn is dying, and tells Edolie how much he loves her, and he says, "Even if we never could have been together, I would still love you, and never marry." Edolie feels sad and tells him that they can marry because he's a prince. He smiles sadly and says, "That's when you said that you loved me. After you found out I was a prince."

Edolie cries, kisses him, and tells him that she loved him from the very first moment she'd met him. And of how she wanted to tell him sooner, but was afraid to because she would break his heart. And after she found out he was royal, she knew she had to tell him. He smiles happily knowing that she loved him from the start, and slowly tells her good-bye.

Broderick then turns to Wilona, and pleads her to heal his master, so Edolie can be happy. Wilona says, "I do not possess such power. My magic is limited." Suddenly, Wilona clasps her hands in prayer, and asks for the power to heal Darryn. A white light surrounds her, and she heals Darryn - from his wound, and his blindness. But as a result, her magic is weakened.

Wilona then decides to use that last of her magic to grant Broderick a reward for his unselfish plea, and changes into a She-Doolie, in order to make him happy.

This is a really interesting picture. Wilona really does look menacing.

However, is her sudden appearance a little ... well, sudden? Maybe as a sorceress, she had locked a bit of her essence inside the staff should someone evil get their hands on it? I dunno...

Thanks.

Actually, I meant to edit the picture, but never did. I had a good idea for the ending, and never got around to writing it.

Wilona has a special pool of fire, which she uses to keep an eye on them as they journey on. So, when she sees Edolie in trouble, and Darryn and Broderick knocked out, she breaks the law that she is to always stay at the mountain, and appears to stop Blagden.

After the castle starts crumbling, she turns into a small fireball, and leads the others out a safe exit. Then, as Darryn's dying, Broderick begs Wilona to help heal his Master, so "Mistress Edolie can be happy." Wilona says that she cannot, because her magic is limited. But as she sees the Doolie cry, and Darryn's breath grow heavy, she says a prayer, asking for the power to heal Darryn. A great light comes down on her, and she heals Darryn... but as a result, her magic powers are weakened.

Wilona decides that since her magic rod is broken, and most of her powers are gone, there is no need to go back to her mountain. So, she decides to reward Broderick, using the last of her power. Sensing his loneliness, she turns into a She-Doolie for him, because she is now free of all her ancient responsibilities.

It seemed a little sudden to me too, so I started figuring out a new "fixed up" ending. I just never edited the image.

That explains a lot and I think it also makes Wilona's character much more noble than I had imagined.

Porcelain-Requiem In reply to mijelly [2008-08-31 03:35:42 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I wanted her to be noble. And this just seemed much more fitting for her.

It also explains why she didn't just follow the three. I figured her being bound to a law would fit.

mijelly In reply to Porcelain-Requiem [2008-08-31 20:59:03 +0000 UTC]

So, could it also be that her mountain is where she regenerates her powers, so leaving it weakens her substantially?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Porcelain-Requiem In reply to mijelly [2008-08-31 23:40:29 +0000 UTC]

Well, she is weakened because she uses all the power she can harness to help Darryn. It drains most of her magic.

Those girls are fire.

I actually wanted to make the women in my story do some cool things too. Because a lot of girls are portrayed as damsels in distress. Now, Edolie is one most of the time, but she has her kick butt moments too.

I agree with what you said... It reminds me of an episode of Death Note, when L says: "Justice will prevail".

It was originally gonna be because the people were gonna kick his butt, so he just decided heck with it and died. But now he's like, "Yay! I killed Darryn. Now I rule the land." And Wilona's like, "Heck no!"

She's basically like, "You did evil deeds? Well, your evil will eat you, just like my fiery hair."

He burns and then goes to the fiery pits.

Wilona's fire is actually good. That's why it's able to destroy the wicked for their crimes.

Wilona's cool. I've seen her in some of your other pics. For some reason though, your style reminds me of.... oh... what's the name of that one movie.....?
It has a blind swordsman guy, a two headed dragon, a girl...... Lancelot? I forget. I know it's a cartoon movie though, One of the good ol' classics.

Porcelain-Requiem In reply to raccoon-spasm [2008-06-17 05:17:33 +0000 UTC]

Oh, do you mean "Quest for Camelot?"

Actually, I based my story on Disney films, and "The Princess Bride." Plus, the book that Q4C was based on was way different. No blind guy, two headed dragon, etc..

raccoon-spasm In reply to Porcelain-Requiem [2008-06-17 14:24:50 +0000 UTC]

YES!! That's it! Bingo!
Yeah, usually if they base a movie off a book, it's WAY different. Like Eragon. The book and movie were really different. lol
I guess they do it sometimes to make it more... IDK.... kidish?

Porcelain-Requiem In reply to raccoon-spasm [2008-06-17 15:16:01 +0000 UTC]

Well, if they make my story into a movie, I really hope they don't change stuff too much. I mean, the only things that might be a little scary are a few parts in the ending scene. Other than that, it's generally okay.

That'd be cool if they made it into a movie. I'd probably watch it. Course, I gotta finish reading it first. lol
