This is a really interesting picture. Wilona really does look menacing.
However, is her sudden appearance a little ... well, sudden? Maybe as a sorceress, she had locked a bit of her essence inside the staff should someone evil get their hands on it? I dunno...

Thanks.
Actually, I meant to edit the picture, but never did. I had a good idea for the ending, and never got around to writing it.
Wilona has a special pool of fire, which she uses to keep an eye on them as they journey on. So, when she sees Edolie in trouble, and Darryn and Broderick knocked out, she breaks the law that she is to always stay at the mountain, and appears to stop Blagden.
After the castle starts crumbling, she turns into a small fireball, and leads the others out a safe exit. Then, as Darryn's dying, Broderick begs Wilona to help heal his Master, so "Mistress Edolie can be happy." Wilona says that she cannot, because her magic is limited. But as she sees the Doolie cry, and Darryn's breath grow heavy, she says a prayer, asking for the power to heal Darryn. A great light comes down on her, and she heals Darryn... but as a result, her magic powers are weakened.
Wilona decides that since her magic rod is broken, and most of her powers are gone, there is no need to go back to her mountain. So, she decides to reward Broderick, using the last of her power. Sensing his loneliness, she turns into a She-Doolie for him, because she is now free of all her ancient responsibilities.
It seemed a little sudden to me too, so I started figuring out a new "fixed up" ending. I just never edited the image.

That explains a lot and I think it also makes Wilona's character much more noble than I had imagined.

Yeah, I wanted her to be noble. And this just seemed much more fitting for her.
It also explains why she didn't just follow the three. I figured her being bound to a law would fit.

So, could it also be that her mountain is where she regenerates her powers, so leaving it weakens her substantially?

Well, she is weakened because she uses all the power she can harness to help Darryn. It drains most of her magic.

I loved Wilona's expression!
I agree with what you said... It reminds me of an episode of Death Note, when L says: "Justice will prevail".

Thanks.
It was originally gonna be because the people were gonna kick his butt, so he just decided heck with it and died. But now he's like, "Yay! I killed Darryn. Now I rule the land." And Wilona's like, "Heck no!"

She's basically like, "You did evil deeds? Well, your evil will eat you, just like my fiery hair."
He burns and then goes to the fiery pits.
Wilona's fire is actually good. That's why it's able to destroy the wicked for their crimes.

YES!! That's it! Bingo!
Yeah, usually if they base a movie off a book, it's WAY different. Like Eragon. The book and movie were really different. lol
I guess they do it sometimes to make it more... IDK.... kidish?

Well, if they make my story into a movie, I really hope they don't change stuff too much. I mean, the only things that might be a little scary are a few parts in the ending scene. Other than that, it's generally okay.
