I was in a nerdy mood, and wanted to draw some "Speed Racer" fanart, because no childhood was complete without it. (Funniest anime EVER.)So, yeah... from top left on... it's Speed, Chim-Chim, Spritle, Trixie, and Sparky.
Random note: Was I the only one who found Sparky absolutely HUNKY as a kid? I seriously thought so... maybe I was just weird. Who knows?

Good Job I always loved this classic anime show on CN way back One thing about it,it was kinda funny how Trixie was more that Speed's girl,but also like one of the family I mean she was like a big sister figure to Spritle

I watched the cartoons a few times as a child, and I just re-watched the movie, and now I'm on a Speed Racer high. XD
But anyway, this is such a lovely piece! I love both how you draw people/facial features as well as the coloring technique. It's delightful!
& for the record... Sparky was quite handsome in the movie. ;3

YES!!! I love this. I used to watch a little of the old show when it came on cartoon network when I was a kid. I saw the movie when it was in theatres. I thought they did an pretty good job.

Pretty nice picture...and if ever there was a movie that demanded to be seen on the big screen, it's this one. I think it's one of the best movies of the year.

Oh, man. My mother and her siblings basically worshipped the show when they were children in the 70s, so I'm definitely going to show her this. xD I've seen some of the show myself (I think only about nine consecutive episodes starting from #1) and I enjoy it. :3

I can't remember much (cause I was three at the time) but man. Speed Racer was so awesome, if only for the theme song. (And forget film critics! I'm seeing the movie tomorrow anyway.)
Anyway, pardon my rambles, and let's get on to the picture itself. The composition of the entire piece feels like an official poster-the characters are displayed as they are canon-ly. The eye is drawn to every character, by the direction the characters are looking in in general. (Like, I look at what Trixie's looking at and I see Speed Racer~!)
Trixie and Speed have to be the cutest in the picture, though. Trixie looks so hopeful and in love, whereas Speed is being his handsome devilish self as usual.
