Model is JaylaSome people demand a description on these types of photos. Initially I didn't want to put one.
But I'll briefly say, the beginning concept was the models.
We then both developed it into what you see here.
She had the needles which you see on her neck (she'd gotten them from a veterinary place) and I had the syringe.
The neck was her idea and from there I progressed by adding the syringe idea. I told her to make it look like she was injecting her lip and I had her put gloss on her eyes and lips to give herself an extra plastic look.
The end result became a reflection of plastic surgery and our materialistic society, where everything is all about how to be beautiful.. and you are always told you'll never be good enough.

To my mind ...
This does a very good job of commenting on that fact that the Adrenalyn Rush which often follows Plastic Surgery, Tattooing, Meeting Famous People, having Sex With Someone New, And So On ...
It can be as addictive as the Rush which comes from Cocaine or other Drugs.
And this is why certain individuals cannot stop engaging in more and more extreme Body Modification. Or they wreck their bank accounts attempting to meet this or that Super Star face to face.
They NEED that new Adrenalyn Fix !!!

The eyes are stunning. The makeup is pretty as well. And the needles in the wrapping around her neck also add a very nice effect. Excelent photo! :]

I normally roll my eyes when I see needles but the composition of this was compelling enough that I looked at it large.... I am glad I did. It is a solid, clean image. Pretty. She looks so bored which really is perfect for what you ended up creating together.
I am glad you didn't come out and say, "this is about plastic beauty. i set out to make a statement." Working with someone like that is a much better thing to do, in my opinion. Making statements on purpose always feels so forced. You actually found a fairly good balance between the typical (boring, played out) "plastic beauty" cliche and your conceptual outcome... what you both brought to the final image made it feel fresh to me.
The ace bandage and her melting with boredom yet STILL better than everyone else attitude. Going through the motions... like she's a top model and this is just the easiest way for her to transport and use her botox boosters. Maybe she's a botox dealer heading out to the backstage areas at major runway shows.... anyway, the point is you bucked the cliche of a tired concept just enough for me to feel compelled to respond. Good job!
I probably don't even need to mention her fresh face and gold make-up go far to remove the "junkie glam" stigma from the concept. And

Really brilliant way of handling this concept. It's one I'm currently working on myself and I think this is a really strong image. I hate needles so it feels kind of weird looking at it but very well done!

Currently I am working on a series where I try to couple names of production processes to people. For example "Dismissed" or "Expired" or "According To Specifications".
To depict these words in how superficial human beings look at / jugde / treat eachother.
I'll send you some examples in a note. It's still highly secretive (

I would never of gotten the concept behind this. I would of thought more along the lines of drug usage. Obviously you can see where my mind is. Thanks for sharing where you got the needles! that was my first thought in my head!!
