Senpai forgive me for not commenting on this earlier. ;_;
Anyhow, I freaking love this as I've already told you. How do you draw the twins so precious? They really look so adorable and in character here. x3
Pls draw them more...

WHAT IS THERE TO FORGIVE
NOTHIINNNGG
I dunno how to replicate this drawing of them, tbh. How do I draw them equally adorable as they are in this one? xD;
I'll keep drawing them of course
I'll keep drawing them

You probably won't appreciate this coming from a non-Gravity Falls fan, but given that I'm really intrigued by this piece... I want to comment!
Anyway... the first thing that astounds me is the phenomenal background! I know this probably makes you face-fault, but backgrounds are the bit that I feel 'makes' a picture- to be pretentious, like the frame. Ergo... here it is fantastic- I love the simplistic and yet complex trees surrounding them- what are expert brush-strokes (I love the brush you have used here!) give the impression of individual pine needles, leaves, gnarled bark... the perspective 'zoomed out' because the focus is of course, on the two characters here. The lighting and colouring though REALLY is the icing here- it's as if it is at twilight, with what remains of the day coming from behind the boy... and this is reflected in a sublime manner off both of them, the trees (especially in the distance- that detail is STAGGERING!) and the surrounding atmosphere. Absolutely perfect job here Phoenix. A little criticism on this part though- the final detail with the rays of sunlight coming from the top left... maybe you could have done more with these... reduced their opacity perhaps? As it stands (and maybe this is just to my eyes), they look almost like well... solid objects. I think more... with more transparency. If you don't agree, then ignore this haha!
The characters themselves are very good- the fine detailing once again is phenomenal, from the ornaments and little gouges in the boy's outfit and book, to the hairband, braces and collar on the girl. They are well coloured in the surrounding light- the vividness is reduced given the atmosphere (maybe I'm wrong about their colours?), which is balanced and works perfectly for this piece. I can't stress that enough- well done here.
Their poses and proportions are also perfect- you expressed to me a while ago about your difficulties with drawing children/young people, and yet I see no problem here. Only good things- I'm definitely impressed with the excited, wondering pose employed by the girl, and the almost anxious, wary one used by the boy. Their hands are drawn perfectly to accentuate this- especially on the girl (that looks like it was complicated to pull off, and you did it very well! You should be proud!). Well done once again Phoenix!
Now... their faces... hmm. Looking at their hair (which is brilliantly drawn and coloured as always), their eyes... even features like their nose... re they twins? Because they look... exactly the same in facial feature. If that makes sense. If this is what is correct, then kudos, and ignore the next sentence... If it isn't correct... hmm. They only need to be slightly different, in order to make them 'unique', such as the shape of the eyes and mouth. ...The girl's expression reminds me of a certain someone you've been drawing recently haha... especially with that slight fang!
Anyway, rambling. Absolutely top-notch work once again Phoenix! Glad I saw this before I go off for brain-surgery
Ciao!

Thanks for the comment! Haha, it's okay, I'm the one who didn't even like Gravity Falls when I first tried to watch it a year or two ago... I dunno what happened help me I'm trash
Glad you liked the background! I just kinda barfed it up, honestly. I feel like my brushes did all the work for me and I didn't really do anything. xD; But it was fun to work with, I enjoyed scribbling the colors in and doing the trees was kinda fun.
Dipper and Mabel were definitely the most difficult part of the whole process. :L Number one, I had to try and convert the show's extremely cartoonish style into something sort of... my own, if that makes sense, and number two, yeah I'm really not accustomed to drawing children. It took me way too long, trying to get their anatomy to look halfways decent. I really am more comfortable drawing adults, haha.
Lol yes, Mabel's the overly excited one and Dipper is probably just trying to calm her down. I feel like he's the only sane person in the entire show actually. xD; Admittedly... their hands were really easy to draw. I never felt like I'd say that in my life wow I do struggle with hands in different positions, but these positions... eh. Not too difficult.
Yes, they're twins! I'm really glad you could tell - that was the part I was most worried I wouldn't be able to pull off, so I'm really glad it worked out.
Oh boy... well... best of luck, I really hope everything goes well for you.

No worries. Haha... you're not trash. I'm trash for slowly falling out of love with Undertale, instead coming back to and finally writing for LoZ and TDT (the former one I've already published for... admittedly it's a crackfic crossing over Undertale- not quite Walrf Lengurkur shenanigans yet though!). I am glad to see that having given it another chance you've found something in it that you like, that's always good!
I really did- like I said, I often look at backgrounds first because they sort of... 'sum it up' for me. I feel it was a combination of the brushes and your direction, what you had in mind that made it excellent. It looks ethereal- mysterious. Which makes me intrigued both for this piece and the material you derived it from. I'd say that was a very good demonstration then... especially if to you, this was a mere scribble!
Looking over the source material, I'd say... if the show employed YOUR style, I would be very enthused in watching it. I far prefer your own take- do not take that as a vacuous praise. Now... if they are supposed to be YOUNG children... I would say that you... are getting there. If they were in between, as in... nearly/ are teenagers, then you succeeded. Your efforts paid off- I think drawing the 'baggier' outfits helped perhaps?
Haha that makes sense... She definitely looks... between excited and in wonderment with her pose and expression- something awesome to have been executed. Well done additionally for pulling off the awkward hand-poses so fluidly as well, I'd say then that you've more than got the hang of it... As I keep saying, you improve vastly with each new piece, and now you can say you're mastering something you had trouble with, with our words to assure you! c:
Aye, from their expressions, eyes, noses, ears and the shape of their head... It took me a few moments of looking at them to figure out that they're twins and not like... clones. sorry So yeah, it more than worked out. Just be careful with other 'human' pictures not to make them look too similar aside from cases like this.
It didn't, but thank you anyway. I hope you and the family are doing well, and that the job is treating you good too.

...eh... you're totally fine, I understand that. And, really? Wow! I haven't even checked FF in a while, I should go look!
Well thank you. The subjects themselves took a while because I'm not used to drawing kids, I guess, but the background was a scribble. xP
Hmmm... the show itself has a very odd style that took me a long time to get used to. It was one of the things that turned me away from it when I first tried watching it. I just forced myself to get used to it, and it eventually grew on me. (Took a while though. xD) I think... going into it, I was expecting something different, so when I didn't immediately get what I wanted, I gave up and didn't come back to the show until recently. Then I actually gave it a chance and decided I really liked it. I'd recommend it, but go into it expecting a fun comedy, not necessarily an epic adventure (like I was expecting), and maybe you'll enjoy it. I dunno. Just if you're interested. x3
They're like twelve, so they were easier to draw than really young children, if that makes sense, lol. Anyway.
that's... unfortunate. I'm sorry. Everything's going fine for me, but best of luck to you too.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still enthused to complete the stories (and a future instalment) I have on the go, but I'm kinda tired of it now- particularly the fanbase (!). I've been reading around, it seems there's been a few more TP fics since TPHD came out for instance! I'm going to try and be more proactive too!
No worries. That makes sense- did they take as long as it takes you to draw Sans, considering the less-complex anatomy/detailing? I'm definitely in admiration at how effortless creating the background was for you!
I can... definitely understand how it took so long, looking at it. It's very interesting that going into it fresh, forgoing your initial expectations of seriousness enabled you to settle and enjoy it though. Reading over synopses and taking a look at it, I think I will give it a go soon, whilst bearing your words in mind (basically, take it with a pinch of salt, yes?). So yeah, thank you.
Ah well that makes sense- I would imagine if you were to draw... for example Frisk, or young Link from OoT/WW, you could employ this style you have used, both to instil your own unique style and also... because it's pretty darn good. c:
It wasn't the worst case scenario. Thank you, and I'm glad to hear you're doing fine.

Ooh, awesome! Well, best of luck with your writing! And yes. The fanbase is awful and I'm tired of it too, but I still do really enjoy the game. Hah... I haven't played TPHD since I got it... oops.
They took a lot longer than Sans tbh. I find him far easier to draw.
Yeah, the art style of the show is definitely hard to get used to at first, but if you're like me - and Lyra, too - it really grew on us overtime. Just... yeah, go into it expecting a comedy; something fun to make you smile or laugh. And it's kinda addicting. xD; Once I got to the fourth episode, I couldn't stop watching, and finished the entirety of season one in a day, and season two the next. So hey. Maybe you'll have fun. /shrug
