UPDATED JANUARY 16TH 2024, I wanted to fix some details in the art now that it's been so many years hehe I think it looks a bit better now!

Yep, the cover of the doujinshi I'm drawing right now ^^
In my last deviation you could have a brief spoiler about it c:

This cover kiiinda shows what the doujinshi will be about, but I guess in a different way you may be thinking now xD you will see, and even though it shows the characters as children, they won't be at the doujin.

Now, this is a NeftisxAtem doujin but focused on Atem, so you're warned ouo it will have Ocs and MY headcanons about the characters, specially Atem. If you don't agree with them you can tell me but I won't change the story only because you don't like the way I see the characters and start complaining unpolitely :I, that's why I leave this warning before you start. Suggestions are always welcome though ^^

Anyway, about the drawing, I like how it came out Atem and his friends ad children playing, Atem as the pharaoh *yep, that's Akhenamkhanen's robe xD he looks so cute with it* and the others as his court, Neftis is the scribe, Mana the magician and Amkhi the leader of the kuriboh guards lol Seto is not really amused *he wants to be the leader >8C ...ok no xDDD* and Mahad can't help but smile. I have plenty of work to finish aside from the doujinshi so it may take me days to upload new pages.

Summary:
Pharaoh Akhenamkhanen has passed away and Atem is about to be crowned, but things are not going as planned as the prince starts his journey to finally understand who he is and will be as the new pharaoh.

This doujinshi takes place in the historical version of Yugioh, which means that Atem is only a 19 year old young man that still needs to learn a lot. In MY headcanon, the fact that he became a pharaoh at such a young age took him by surprise and made him grow up too fast to realize some things about himself, that's why he learned a LOT with Yugi and his friends, and why he was a really mature young pharaoh for his age at the Shadow RPG.

Mana: 16 years old
Seto: 22 years old
Mahad: 25 years old

Some facts I changed/facts you need to know or remember:
-Their ages are never specified in the canon so don't try to complain ouo it is how I see them~
-Atem is taller in my story, since I made them older in my story I just hc think he grew up a bit by then hehe
-Mahad, Mana, Amkhi and Neftis are Atem's childhood friends *you know Mahad is 6 or 7 years older than Atem at the most*
-Seto is their childhood friend too but he joined them years later: after the incident at his villa with the bandits and the blue eyes, he arrived the palace as an orphan survivor from the "village destroyed by bandits" and Akunadin took him as his pupile *knowing he was his son but without telling him of course*
-Amkhi is Nubian, not Egyptian
-Neftis and Atem are already in a relationship here, don't expect romance though 8D (I'm such a bad person fufufu)
-I didn't plan this doujinshi to be historial accurate, so don't try to bring here real stuff about Egypt and pharaohs, I know them myself, I LOVE Egyptian culture BUT this doujinshi is about Yugioh, the anime/manga that threw away all the historical accuracy it could, so I simply used and twisted some real facts from the Egyptians to fit in this story, capisci?
