Description Well, I think this one is done. A lot of times I like to wait a few days after I think I'm finished with a piece and then take another look at it and see if I can find something I need to improve. But, I'm pretty excited about hearing what people think about this one, so I'll go ahead and put it up, and if I decide I need to make some changes in a few days, I can just edit it.
This is Les Claypool, bassist / vocalist from Primus, companion piece to this illustration of the guitarist Ler ([link] )
and I may have found the image that I pplan to use for the drummer Tim Alexander. This pencils for this illustration are viewable here: [link]
and the rest was handled in photoshop.
Thanks to friends as usual who I asked for feedback while I was working on this.

Thanks, I still think the Ler illustration is better, though. Someday I'll do Tim to complete the set.

Im fact you'd have to do Tim and Brain as well, since the latter was actually Les' first choice, but due to a foot injury couldn't make it for the band's start... -plus, he kicks ass-

Well, that's not totally true. Brain was in Primus for about two weeks before injuring his foot skateboarding, forcing the band to get Tim so they could still play a big show with Faith No More. But, there were about five drummers before hat in Primus / Primate, including Jay Lane. I love Brain as well though, I listened to a couple of boots with him drumming again this week, and he just brought so much more energy to the live shows than Tim did.

It's hard for me to explain, so I'll stick to your definition, Brain has energy... it goes beyond technique... it's part of his nature, and it fits marvelously into the primus trio structure...

Wow, the colors are really good on this. The lighting is GREAT...the double-angle lighting looks real nice. You did a very good job. Makes me want to add some Claypool to my gallery.
Was this based off of a picture?

Thanks. Yes, I forgot to mention, this image was done from photoreference from another wildlupin photo. Unfortunately, I can't find any pictures of Tim Alexander by her, so I think I may use a screen capture from the Hallucinogenetics DVD for his illustration to complete the set.

No pictures of Tim Alexander? But I guess if you use a screenshot from HG, then there are less chances of you finding someone else who made a picture of the same thing..

Yeah, I took a couple screen shots from HG, I'll go back and look at them in a couple weeks to see if I still think it would make a good illustration. In the meantime, I'm finally getting work started on a mythbusters piece I've been wanting to do for years.

Thanks, it's moving along pretty good. I'm about to upload some pencils from a small portion of the mythbusters piece. This is going to be the most involved illustration I've done in years. I'm pretty excited about it.
