Here to fulfill my part on the last leg of ProjectComment ’s Comment Tag tagline #549 after I was silently given (without an @ ping) the keyword “blue”, and lo and behold, this was the most recent thing I could locate where the color blue takes dominion… at least in the background.
Too bad the blue color here is found on the portion of this photograph that is given the least attention and the least lens focus: that maritime background that is waving and reflecting solar light into those unfocused circular blotches of optical “glitter” pretending to be stars in a sky. Except this isn’t the sky above our heads (in spite of it being also blue) but ocean below our legs.
Moving away from that blurry background to that sharp foreground: it’s quite the opposite situation. I can clearly see the fine lines separating the feathers of its wings, underbelly, back, neck, and even its head (especially those ruffled feathers making a crest or crown of sorts). And that beak looks kinda menacing… to the fish hiding beneath those blurred dock waters, of course. Who could survive that sharp, curved, pitch-black mouthpiece that is a weapon of its own?
I hope this bird did not attack you for depriving it of its physical privacy (by taking a picture of it against its will and consent LOL). Reminds me of those old college days back when I took a lucky shot of a peregrine falcon 12 years ago (except I cannot locate it anymore or upload it here because it’s being taken hostage by an unresponsive hard drive!)

Thanks for the great comment. I appreciate your thoughts and input. If you look at the smaller photo and click on it you’ll see that the osprey had a fish in it’s talons. The bird remained there and ate and paid us no mind. I even had to clean his mess when he left.
Thanks again. Have a great day.
