If you notice my mistakes look at yours. :I And apply the corrections. In other words make it satisfy you. I just make mine to the point where it satisfies me. :I

I agree! I've been fixing up a lot of my anatomical mistakes. If I haven't, prove me wrong. I'm definitely aiming toward making my art original and unique. I'm also looking at my competition's artwork and I'm trying to make mine better and still different from theirs, especially some of Dawn's artwork.
I remember talking about anthro-arms in the live chat. I see your point. I've kind of decided that, yeahhh... If it's Pachirisu or Pichu, anthro-arms are ugly. I've even seen drawings of Pachirisu with human arms and that just looked awkward! Most of it was because of the visual balance that it created. Squirrels just cannot have those kinds of arms! Otherwise, if it's Pikachu or Raichu, then human arms look better than the official ones that the PokΓ©mon Company makes. It's original. That's just my opinion.

I actually like Nintendo's anatomy better. :I Also That's not the only way to make your original. Each person has their own style when drawing. The way you draw is supposed to be different from the way another person draws. Of coarse mine actually fluctuates through each drawing because I'm trying to find a drawing style of mine that fits the way I like it. If you want to make their arms human like, then study the human anatomy of an arm. I try to just figure out the anatomy of each character I draw and stick to it. Another thing, when drawing Back grounds Have you ever noticed in alot of pictures and Drawings the sun does not always show when outside in the open? Another thing. Tools don't always help. In some cases it makes the drawing look weirder than it actually would if you where to draw it by hand or even a mouse by that matter. the thing that gets on my nerves with tools is that some overuse them and you can really tell that is all they did. When someone looks at your art do you want them to think "wow.. Circle tool again?!" Or do you want them to have in mind " Awesome work dude!! Keep it up!!" If I was to use any tool it would get the anatomy right and I'd erase what tool I used. or go over it with the color. On Paper just erase. Computer, add a layer for the line work and place another few layers for color.

You know what? I think you're right. I noticed I do better when I sketch on paper and then move to the computer. I usually sketch on paper when I go to an art group, though. Once they kick back in, I should start going again if I can. Depends on college.

My Friend Copper does such. I like here art pretty well. :I Though I'd suggest some brushes for your program. Gimp is a decent program though some use photoshop or Sai. :I
My Suggestion for the drawing part is to either Buy a drawing tablet that you can use on your PC. OR Draw it out on paper, scan, go over with the curved line/ line tool (VERY time consuming). I want to start seeing college level, since you said the other month you where going to an art college. Most Art colleges accept based on how well you draw.

I like your suggestion.
Actually, I'm already in an art college, Full Sail University. I don't know if you've heard of it, but it's in Winter Park, Florida. My last class, Design and Art Theory taught me the differences between good and bad design. Then, they taught me what compels the human eye to a certain object in an image at first glance. Finally, they taught me the basics of color, which was a little preview of Color Theory, the class that I'm in right now.
Thanks to my dad, I've had this Wacom tablet for years! Of course I wasn't a born-natural at Photoshop if you look at my early illustrations. Right now, I have Photoshop CS6 Pro and I'm learning how to think about not letting my ideas be limited in Photoshop (or even Illustrator.) Most of being creative requires layer-masking, especially if it's photo-editing.
So, yeah. I could go on. Long story short, I'm still improving on fan art and my own original art.
By the way, does Copper have a DeviantArt?
