ok. When I had decided maybe cosplay as Edward Elric from Fullmetal alchemist I first thought about the book. At least thats the only thing I could get me hands on to make. I used anything that I had at that time:~Back cardboard from a notebook
~fabric (I dont remember what fabric I used...)
~paint (acrylic) fabric paint and even spray paint....
~parchment paper (I had always liked the look of it which gave it an early 1900's yellowish color)
~Hot glue and elmer's glue
~fountain pen...yeah T_T ^_^ you can tell I like it old fashion! jk. lol.
(Gosh, I think I did it the hard way...)
Anyway I did the State Alchemy's symbol wrong but I'll fix that. Making it wasnt to hard. Though I wanted the color right since the fabric was a lighter brown, I painted it with a mixture of a darker brown or fabric paint and acrylic (with elmer's glue too so that once it dryed it was hardend ) then once it did dried I glued it to the cardboard and hotglue cut-up parchment paper. Edges are uneven kinda but it looks awsome. The book corners are made of the cardboard material I used, spray painted silver.
Once that was done... I filled it up with info:
Transmutation circles (all 38 circles that was in the anime)
Array's light colors (what each color meant)
Equations, math...simple chemistry and formulas
The Philosopher's Stone ( Quotes,Clues, whereabout, ingretients etc.)
All metal element types listed (others too)
The ingredients to a human body...

Quotes from the Manga and Anime (turns out theres alot of stuff that kinda differs...heh ^_^'

~> Yeah I know, sounds like Im a big hugh fan dont I? *Grins* Indeed. Not a manic stalker or something, I love this anime not gaga ove it but I did do alot of research (included watching it again and once more heh) to get things accurate...I even tried to get the writing as crappy and as readable as I can. Ed writes with his left hand even though hes a right handed person. Im both so I tried. He does cursive handwriting but not alot to aviod complication.
well, I still need to fix it and I cant believe you read it to right at this word...thanks. But I hope you like it.

I wanna make Ed's alchemy book. x_x Was it hard to do? and howd you bond the pages together?

for me I bonded the pages with hot glue. But I had separated the pages into two diferent piles that I cliped tight together on top and bottom. I orginally melted the gluesticks onto a very small metal bowl I have and used a dental spatula for layering one side of the two piles of pages and waited til both were dried.Then I put them together and clipped them together on all 3 sides and covered it with glue and quickly added the book cover... I forgot to mention that the cover itself had the front and back are cut separate from the spine (which it makes it easier to open when the pages are bonded to the spine) Since the cardboard of the frona nd back are covered by fabric its pretty durible to me...
