To be honest, I think you actually improved on the original images. You made it something...real. And awesome. 
Real, I guess, in the sense that it's alive, it feels like a consistent world, like it's an actual place where things live and breathe. The images on their own, without your modifications also, seem kind of flat, dead, just staged photographs. Now you've made a piece of art out of it.

I think it would have looked better if you would have left the girl in proportion because now she looks like some sickly girl with a boob job and an abnormally large head! XD

My work is the work done to it, the changing of proportions without completely looking crappy and warped and blurred.
If you simply take out a background add another and change colors.... thats no work at all.
