(Pelikan 100N - EF ..... Platinum Carbon Black, Tombow ABT)
Prompt for today is: Fire
So here it is, the final piece of inktober 2023.
For me it was the 7th participation of inktober.
As every year, there were prompts which I hated and where I struggled with ideas.
Some which were ok and some which I enjoyed.
It's a challenge, and it forces you to draw even if you don't want to.
It's always also about trying out new things, do things different, trying new styles and ways to do it.
It's also about learning and not about delivering the best possible result.
It's a personal challenge, not what others might think about the outcome.
This year I did not felt it as stressful as in some of the other years, I think I get slowly used to it.
I also learned from experience that at least for me, as a person with a full time job and a family, it is crucial to be a few drawings ahead in the beginning.
Otherwise it is too much stress and painful when life happens.
Two times (first year and another) so far I had no buffer and it was a terrible experience.
So from my experience I can only recommend (at least for people which have a job and a life) to be at least 3-5 drawings ahead at the beginning to cover the unexpected.
This buffer naturally will melt and I had no participation where I ended up finishing it before end of the month, I always used up my buffer.
This is in my eyes no cheating, it makes the challenge practicable and it is still a challenge.
So this is it......
Inktober 2023 is over, overall I don't regret my participation, it was again a good experience.
Thanks for following my pieces, I appreciate every view and fav I get.
As a viewer of my pieces I hope I entertained you a bit and you liked some of the inputs.
In case you participated also in a October drawing challenge (the prompt list does not matter) congrats for participating and hopefully finishing it.
I had the feeling that overall participation is decreasing compared to previous years.
Nevertheless I enjoyed watching the inputs of several other artists, well done and thanks for sharing your pieces with us.
