Cosplay made by me and my Nonna (grand-mother) and worn by me.
Wig styled by my sister, Daniela.
I’ve wanted to do a Pokémon gijinka for a while and after seeing some awesome fan arts I decided I would create a Greninja cosplay in the style of a ninja (obvs).
I am very proud of this cosplay as it is the first where I designed the entire thing myself ^_^Parts:
Wig: is a cobalt blue Rufio from Arda wigs which my sister and I styled using hairspray and gel.
Ears: foam parts I glued and painted (blue on inside, yellow on outside) and attached to a headband (which I covered in foam and painted blue (to blend into wig)
Tongue: Pink fabric my Nonna and I fashioned into a sleeve and stuffed with pillow stuffing
Martial arts gi: I designed the gi and wanted it to be open so the yellow undershirt is visible (which is his yellow belly). My nonna sewed the entire thing from scratch and had the great idea to add the 4-pointed star pattern on the back
Poofy pants: I designed the pants and wanted them to be poofy (like greninja’s legs). The bottoms have an elastic and go below the knee. The thighs have the 4-pointed star pattern sewn on. They are stuffed with bubble-wrap to keep them poofy and ridiculous Again, the pants were sewn by my amazing Nonna
Belt: I ordered this martial arts belt
Arms: These are basketball arm sleeves with elbow pads embedded I ordered here . I hand painted the elbow portion with white flexible paint
Hands: These are navy blue gloves I ordered and to make them a little cooler and add contrast I designed wrist straps with a finger attachment. This was sewn by my mother
Fans: This awesome concept for the hands was inspired by this awesome fanart . I ordered yellow fans and then cut, glued, and painted foam pieces on top to create the fingers.
Legs: Using leftover material from the gi and pants I made long strips and wrapped them around my legs and attached them using safety pins.
Knee pads: I created these from EVA foam. Each are a single piece. The knee portion is curved by cutting darts and glueing them in a curve and the back is attached around my leg with lacing. Then they were primed and painted
Feet: I ordered these awesome tabi shoes - they were great and comfortable!
