your use of color is absolutely purplexes me. The way you get contrasting colors to blend and harmonize together, i am so jealous its unbelievable! I would love to emulate your style for a garden of eden tattoo i have to do, if thats ok with you of course! lol. I really hope i can pull it off! Much respect!

There's a ghosted woman in the tree next to the damsel and his protector behind George pointing him to the dragon. That's genius.

This one...probably 30-40 hours. Size 0 to size 10 brushes, and winsor & newton watercolors. I'm writing a book right now on my process but I also have some tutorials at the bottom of this page: [link]

Colour me with waters and say I'm an easter egg, t'wer right t'do it. Overall light effect in pastel shades, and watercolour can be a pain when you want it to do something it wasn't trained to do. Looks like you've got the poor paint whipped. Though you might want to watch just how light it gets. It seems you like to focus a lot on detail and the lighter a painting becomes the more detail is lost. Shades can be a savior. Other than that I'd say Jessica Galbreth has a contender in you. (check google for that name if you want to know) Both of you are wonderful workers with watercolours. Her imagry is usually very dark though, the opposite of this painting in fact.
Stunning and eye catching.
Best watch out for art thieves, they may steal this and I'm not kidding.
Well done.

This is incredible! You are the best painter of trees I've seen, and St. George looks so heroic and saintly, and the dragon's so beautiful I don't want it ti end up slain. It's amazing, brilliant, gorgeous and excellent!

i would LOVE to know how manage to get so many details in your work. i end up losing patience with it and i never end up adding very much, if anything, to the backround. but your backrounds are so intricate, absolutely gorgeous.

George of Cappadocia was a dragon slayer wh became confused with a christian saint. This is partly becaus they share the same name and partly because while george of cappadocia slew an actual, St. George slew the symbolic dragon of pagonism. So I think u got your people confused. Or perhaps your awesome painting was symbolic of St. George and the "dragon".

Sweet. This is one of my favorite Christian icon/images. There's a church in Palm Springs, California; The whole fron double-door is covered by a relief in brass, that's this wicked action-shot of George and the Dragon about to clash. The pose is very much like your painting here, except it looks a little more...I want to say "modern." Yours looks like I'd expect to see it in some art history book about the Rennaisance, whereas this door looks like a scene out of an action movie.
Very nice, very pretty. Capturing the violence of the scene without sacrificing the righteousness of the icon.

Your WCs could use a bit more punch, contrast or value-wise, but this is a superbly rendered image. I can't tell if there's any mistakes with all the texturing, so kudos for you and large-scale watercolors. ; )
