I've been using Kremer Pigments lately for these recent paintings in the past few months. [link]
The blue I've been using is a combination of the "Red Cabbage" (which is actually a dark blue color), and Elderflower (a nice purple).
They're expensive, but so worth it!

Yes, and I found out something recently when I replaced my 20 something year old brushes. The new hair and ferrule sizes: 000, 00, 0, 1, etc., are smaller than my old ones of the same "size". *sigh*

Someone above noted that this reminded them of the silmarillion. I don't see it, but it got me wondering if you've ever considered making Lord of the Rings fan art. Now I know that you're not the typical fan art artist, but I just think it would be awesome to have LOTR illustrations made by you.
Anyway. This is beautiful as always, thought the wings looks like they are not the same size, or maybe it's the angle.
