A quick explanation is that when working with radium paint, the girls (they were often girls) would lick the brushes to keep the tips pointy, so mostly their teeth/jaw would start to rot. Phossy-jaw was similar, but in general when working with white phosphorus.

 idk tbh it look like he has Phossy jaw more than anything
either that or a very weak case of radium jaw omg this is so cool
