People are going to start thinking she's incapable of making any other kind of expression. She CAN smile... she's just very reserved about it!

My little reploid character seems to be making people curious. Given the attention she's gotten recently (thanks to some unexpected but wonderful gift art from a newfound friend, I decided I might as well figure out a name for her. In case you haven't read the title, I'm giving her the name 'Laurel'.

Laurel is used to a desk job. She's capable of combat, but doesn't care for it unless absolutely necessary, and while she initially joined the Maverick Hunters as a recruit she quickly applied for a navigator position when it became available, finding that front-line combat wasn't really her forte. She's sharp and analytical, but distant. She doesn't usually get very chummy with her compatriots because after you hear the dying screams of a few close friends over the radio waves, unable to do anything about it, well... that affects even Reploids. As such she has a reputation for being very cold... cold, but thorough. She's all business, but she makes it her business that YOU don't die, and in spite of her purposefully blank personality, anyone who works with her can pick up on that rather easily; a hint that she's not as heartless as she seems. She has a much higher than average 'Return Rate'... that is, hunters under her direction actually making it back home, but this comes at the cost of a slightly lower rate of accomplished missions, as she'll often call for a full retreat if she deems the situation hopeless. Wise hunters listen to her. Some of the more reckless ones don't, and if they DO make it back, you can bet she'll give them an earful. For this reason she refuses outright to work with Zero or any of the high-profile hunters as they're more likely to defer to their own judgment or throw themselves at a nearly hopeless situation. X would be the sole exception, but he has a pretty dedicated navigator, and she's not about to step on any toes. She prefers instead to babysit the rookies. After all... every hunter who makes it past his first few missions, is another veteran to add to the hunter ranks, and that means everyone's chance of survival increases.
