AKA.... Golden Bat, Phantaman, and PhantomaI actually don't remember seeing the cartoon growing up. But I DO remember playing the model toy of this guy. Happen to ran into a pic on the web and brought back lot of memory... that's why I made the fan art.
Looking at wiki, I guess he is from Atlantis and now fight crime in the modern world. That's about all I know of his back story.
Anyway, it did made a lasting impression on me as a toy!

IΒ watchedΒ PhantomaΒ as kid in 1966 in Melbourne Australia in black and white.His trademark laugh scared Dr Zero's henchmen and creeped me out in that totally cool way.Its why l never forgot him , l did not know he was Golden Bat for years let alone Ogon Bat. l used to love the way he was summoned by the girl who read the inscription on he tomb.She would call him for help and a Bat would appear ,then his haunting laugh would be heard . Then the Bat would swoop on to Phantomas arm[yes he would appear out of nowhere] The Bat transforms into a Bat Tattoo.

just watched ogun bat from 1966. outside of some hokey effects, the ass whoopng this 10,000 year mummy puts on everyone Β totally destroys all the seasons of batman which debuted earlier that same year on out T.V.s also I noticed one of the villians mimmic Ceasr Romero's joker. the only down was nanzo. he was a guy in a felt suit. lol

Never heard of this character, but he looks interesting! Reminds of Dora Skeleton from ZyuRanger (also known as Bones in Season 1 Mighty Morphin Power Rangers). I should probably check this out some time.

Looks awesome! I remember I watched some of the Ogon Bat movie that starred Sonny Chiba, I couldn't make much sense of it as the sub titles were fan subbed and really awful, was still a fun watch though! Your drawing here is great!
