This would make for a brilliant cover of "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe."

It's a classic scene, and you really did it justice, my friend.

Thank you! I actually didn't intend for it to be anything other than a cozy winter scene, but ended up naming it Tea with Tumnus since it immediately felt like that moment.

Heh... must have been one of those subliminal images lurking deep down in your consciousnesses... Just be careful about stepping into and wardrobes, especially if they are built from apple wood!
Seriously though, I've had drawings like that. I start drawing one thing, and suddenly realized that the picture was taking a completely different path, or elements evolved that I hadn't really consciously drawn. I don't want to take those turns TOO seriously, but I do think they are rarely "accidental".
Like the "implied" forest beyond the lamp. You've kept the details to a minimum, and given plenty of room for the imagination to fill it in.
nice work!

I know what you mean. And after all, C.S. Lewis did get the idea for the whole series from an image of a faun walking through a snowy wood with an armful of packages.

All I know is that C.S. Lewis harbored this faun-in-the-snowy-forest idea for several years and that was how he got the idea for the story of "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe," which ultimately led to the entire Narnia series as we know it and love it today.
Tumnus was always my favorite character, and the portrayal by James McAvoy is the best, in my opinion. Never imagined Tumnus as someone so young and good-looking (the director almost let James go for those very reasons), but it works, especially since James is an actor who takes his job very seriously.
