Wonder what happens when he hits 100%?

Officially: He only listens to the Courier and he can take care of the bureaucratic parts of running a nation by himself.

Good to know. I was wondering what was going to happen. I figured it might have been based on Karma if the story progressed further, Ala "Broken Steel".

Yes, I know they swore they'd never continue the storyline that way, and I'm personally happy they didn't. RPGs are supposed to have endings.

That is a beautiful picture you made, however. The Courier waiting for a friend to come back.

They did plan to let you play after the ending, but there were too many variables and too little time/resources to properly handle them. That Assertiveness upgrade was so that Yes Man takes care of the boring parts of being a statesman while you go off on further adventures.

Did they confirm it? I always thought it'd be something like a backup copy of House that would just wind up infecting/overwriting him

It's officially confirmed.

I now eagerly await bumping into Yes Man a couple dozen years, and hopefully multiple sequals, into the future

Unfortunately, that depends on what ending Bethesda decides to make canon. More likely, they'll simply set future games far enough from the Mojave to not matter, with brief mentions of stuff.

I dunno, the way the game seemed to demonize CL and somewhat House, I can see the cannon endgame involving a pro NCR Courier installing Yes Man, if not just an NCR ending. It's pure speculation on my part, but I'm picturing the NCR going full Pre War on the world, and eventualy recreating an Enclavesque shadow govt., with a future game involving them renuking the waste or something. So, yeah, I just wasted your time speculating

While I agree on how the Legion was demonized/not properly developed, I liked House. He came off as at the least a competent ruler who gets the job done without actively persecuting the people.

Personaly, I'd say he's the best shot humanity has. Even if we don't take his promises of space colonies seriously, he's still extremely smart, has a securitron army to protect his people, and promises a stable economy. Combine that with the fact he doesn't so much cripple the NCR, as much as forces them home. And you pretty much get the best of both worlds, the NCR will expand around you, possibly even merge with you, bringing some semblance of law and order, while House brings stability to everyone's lives, and gives them an alternative to raiding. Really it's a shame the NCR was so dead set on killing him.

Yeah, I saw him as competent without being way too evil. He seemed like the kind of guy who knew what he was doing and knew how to get shit done.

He was kind of a controlling dick, but considering that the world burned around him, while everything he touched more or less survived, you really can't blame him. Even his hate of the BoS was pretty justified. He might actually be the tragic hero of New Vegas.

Well, I simply sorta liked the Independent Vegas storylines better since it was always more interesting than the NCR or Legion storyline. The NCR just comes off as a fairly generic Good Guy ending that you would see in any other ending. The Legion ending was out of the question since I tend to play female characters and from their perspective they gain absolutely nothing from helping them.

I like the idea of both of the armies being defeated by a random third side that secretly bests both of them.
