Finally!

3 whole months (although it seems like longer) of searching for materials, clothes, accessories, and painstakingly putting it all together, my Vivi plushie is done!

I was going to add up the amount of money it took to buy all the clothes, but I lost count. Let's just say it was a LOT. I did come across some great finds - like the belt, which I'd looked for for ages, was a pound in a charity shop. But then I decided the buckle needed to be silver instead of gold, and spent 8 quid on a can of silver spray-paint. T_T Even those little silver lace-holes cost 7.50.
Some parts didn't require much planning (eg, the denim jacket was already a denim jacket that had been kept in a cupboard after I'd grown out of it), but some things needed careful thought (like the hat, which I made from scratch, or the trousers, which were originally 2 t-shirts).

It was so frustrating trying to work with our stupid borrowed sewing machine that eventually I gave up and did everything else by hand. *kicks sewing machine*

I would like to extend thanks to a few people for their help:
My grandmother for buying the shoes and donating extra stuffing
And my mum, for doing tons of sewing and having to wrestle with the sewing machine, buying a few components, and generally putting up with me.

Vivi's 'birthday' was on October 5th 2006, and next year I'll probably have a small party or something. ^-^

Vivi stands at 40 inches - that's one whole metre - tall. I've wanted a life-size (well, close enough) Vivi plushie probably ever since I first played the game 2 years ago, but the only ones you can buy are Japanese 'UFO' dolls that are the size of your hand. They're kinda expensive and nowhere near worth it, in my opinion - you can't hug them. So I decided I needed one of these. The only other large Vivi plushie I've ever, ever seen was this one: [link] , owned by the creators of the game, and I've never seen anything like that for sale anywhere. So I eventually resolved to make one myself. When that idea first came to me I honestly didn't think I'd ever get around to it - but apparently I did.

Here's to Vivi - the best video game character I've ever seen! *hugs him*
