Chalkydris are 12-winged phoenix-looking avian creatures with lion and crocodile features. Just say it looks like a dino with feathers. Anyway they burst into song each sunrise, and according to what I read, it is sublime. They have 12 wings, and since you can't possibly fit that many wings on an harmonious body, guess what, wing halo. Yeah.I'm usually careful about what I write here but you know what ? 2018 is the year I stop giving a shit.
The book of Enoch is the most frustrating text I ever read because I dug for context around mesopotamian lore, but apparently I should have read the Sefer Yetzirah to get a clue, and now I have to re-read the text to see any pattern I might have missed. And I'm apparently either too impatient or too ignorant because I still do not get anything...
And it's at this moment that I realise I didn't get the right version if I wanted the description of chalkydris.
Plus I find first person narration unsettling because I clearly am not the narrator.
