I feel sorry for Paarthurnax. I mean, dragons want to kill him for what he is now, and humans want to kill him for what he used to be. Poor guy just can't win!

I feel like nobody who bought Skyrim actually joined the blades, because paarthurnax is just too cool to kill
stupid decision to make that a 'choose a side' deal
should've somehow resolved the mistrust between the blades and greybeards

I know a few people who joined the blades, one of them was on accident, he accidentally summoned Durnehviir on top of the mountain and he killed Paarthurnax.

Totally. He gave me freakin' power-ups to my shouts; plus he's just a likeable old dragon.

Oh I love this dragon so much, I would never kill him. The Blades are just... there's just no word for that. This dragon actually gave up everything, all the power he had, and the company of the other dragons, just to help humanity to defeat Alduin, when he could have so much more as Alduin's right hand. For thousands of years, he lived completely alone on that mountain, waiting for Alduin to return, so that he can help the humans again. He alone decided to stand against his own kind, his own family, risking his own life to help you in a battle against his stronger brother.
Not only that, but from the very first time you meet, he treats you like if you were another one of his kind, another Dovah, with respect and friendship, which is pretty awesome. And the Blades wants you to kill him just because he's a dragon? Well, I'm the Dragonborn, so screw you...

F*CK YOU BLADES! PAARTHURNAX'S THE COOLEST CHARACTER IN THIS THING!
I've gotta admit, sometimes the "you can't kill this character because he is important" from Bethesda really is a pain! I tried to kill them when i received the mission '-'

I don't why they want you to kill the dragon that Helped you kill Alduin (I actualy didn't want to kill Alduin either)
Am I the only one who thought Paarthurnax was white?

DragonLover2015 In reply to WhiteCroe [2016-07-31 16:51:16 +0000 UTC]
I think he was white at some point, he is about as strong as a frost dragon if not a bit stronger. I think he was MADE to be Alduins' right hand man. He's just so unique amongst his own kind.

YAY! Someone who actually paid attention! So many other peeps don't draw him with his right horn half broken, it really symbolizes his age I think. I love paarthurnax, I like the blades too but you can't kill someone who helped you, that's wrong...right? Besides someone has to look after the remaining dragons and teach them there's more to life than enslaving, destroying, and brute strength or strong "thu'um" (voice).
I know its just a video game but i'm a big dragon fan

I'd marry Paarthurnax and have him sit on top of my house in Whiterun.

Basically, the dragons in WoW are capable of assuming a humanoid form to better interact with the humanoids of Azeroth since they have to do so so often. Naturally, their humanoid forms are all wicked hot. For example:

Pythosart In reply to CallistaZM [2012-05-03 12:06:32 +0000 UTC]
I assume "Azeroth" is the mortal plane of existence?
I dunno. It's an interesting idea, but I like the idea of interacting with something far from being human. Although the Daedric Princes of the Elder Scrolls are quite like that. Not all take humanoid form, though. At least in Skyrim, most appear as humanoid statues, while some are just a voice, an Oblivion portal, or a ball of light. I like the idea that dragons and daedra see mortals as "lesser" beings and would rather appear to them in their true and terrible from rather than stooping to becoming a humanoid themselves.
Though it is certainly fun to try to recreate something as inhuman as a dragon as a humanoid.

CallistaZM In reply to Pythosart [2012-05-03 13:58:42 +0000 UTC]
Ah yes Azeroth = Nirn basically. In WoW, there are no separate planes of existence such as Elder Scrolls has. Dragons must share the world with mortals whether they like it or not.
The dragons are guardians of the mortal world, each governing a particular sphere. The red dragons are guardians of Life, blue is Magic, green is The Dream (which is difficult to explain), Bronze is Time, and Black is the earth.
Deathwing used to be the Earth Warden, leader of the black dragons, until he went completely batshit insane which is why we have to kill him now. One of my favorite scenes in the quest line is the epic battle between the Dragon Queen and Deathwing: [link]

During my first Skyrim playthrough, my fiance, who had already beat the game, spoiled me on the ending and told me I would have to kill Paarthurnax. I seriously almost cried. Then he laughed at me for being so cute and told me the truth. Bastard. XD

When Esbern told me I'd have to kill Paarthurnax, I was like "ppppffffffffffff" and Fus Ro Dah'd all their food stuff off of the long table in Sky haven Temple, then strutted off and never returned.

Pythosart In reply to aranous [2012-05-02 12:41:06 +0000 UTC]
Thanks!
If Paarthurnax were evil and Alduin were good, I'd imagine they'd be much the same as they are now, just on different sides. Alduin would go out and tear other dragons to pieces, while Paarthurnax would plot and scheme and send a devoted follower to get him an Elder Scroll, and Tamriel would be fucked.

aranous In reply to Pythosart [2012-05-02 15:02:28 +0000 UTC]
I know, what I mean I guess is if Paarthurnax inherited the black, spiky look, and Alduin ended up becoming white.
If you look real close, Alduin's black scales almost look as though they are not a natural part of his body, like its molten armor that grew over his original skin.

Pythosart In reply to aranous [2012-05-02 17:25:03 +0000 UTC]
I did get that sense. It guess it works. Alduin had been adrift in time; who knows what he ran into? His scales could have melted and reformed, or he could have fallen into magma or something.

If you look closely in the flashback, you can see his scales were like that before. That's just how he naturally looks.
