Oooooooooooo I have pictures of the Moonstone Beast at the Colorado Renaissance Festival!! There was another one with giant wings. They were gorgeous! My son ((who was one at the time)) loved them!

These costumes, when seen in a setting, look so lively. Its is frankly amazing.

It's almost hard to believe they're just costumes....
I wish I could see them in a Jim Henson movie or something.
Beautiful!

I figured, from reading an earlier comment, that I'd throw in that I now own the Copper Beast (quite happily, I've loved the suit, and all of your works, since you first made it) and you'll see it running around AC.
I do have to ask though, how do you glue the paw pads on? Some of them are starting to come off around the edges and hot glue won't stick in the least (tested on one pad).

Lucky! I wanted that suit too :3
I had new handpaws made because these pads were starting to come off (plus the hands were a little small for me)

Congratulations! Hmm, I think I used silicone for those, though it might have been polyurethane. Come see me at my dealer's table at Anthrocon (C12) and I can get it fixed up one way or another.

This photo is amazing! You truly bring fantasy to life Qarrezel. I hope to continue seeing your work for years to come, and perhaps one day I will commission you when I am not a poor schmuck.

Omg!
Was that Renaissance festival somewhere in New York?
Because I think I totally remember seeing these two, I am 80% sure... (100% sure if the festival was in fact in NY)
I remember thinking the costumes were /SO COOL/!

Oh mai gosh, they look so lovely.
Where do you buy the fur? I've been meaning to make my own..but I don't know what website or store I can trust.
I feel bad for leaving comments, I remember (I hope you don't..) last time I asked you a question and it was misinterpreted as something rather insulting, and I'm sorry for that. I did NOT mean for it to sound so shallow and stupid. I really admire your artwork.

Wonderful to see where your work has got to... Do you ever wonder about where a piece will end up once you have finished it?

Qarrezel In reply to lakotawolf116 [2009-10-29 00:51:56 +0000 UTC]
I always wonder - especially the ones that disappear forever.
I definitely find it funny, though, to run into a costume of mine at a festival or convention. When it was in my studio it was an inanimate object. Now, suddenly, it's running up to me saying "Hi! Nice to finally meet you!" It's actually quite disorienting.

I don't have much of a preference. Just parts are easier, of course, but full outfits are impressive.

Haha, oh it's not as though I don't like it or don't get used to it fairly quickly. Don't worry about the best way to approach me, the effect can't be avoided.
