First off I love the background, the swirls flow very nicely like water does.
I love the colors you used in the picture too. They're not overly bright but they're still vibrant. The choice of colors is great too, the red-orange hair, the green yellows. I especially love his pants. ^^
I love the way you draw his hair too, nice and long it is so beautiful.
And all the folds on his clothes are astonishing, they look so real.
I wish I had the patience you have to put all the beautiful little designs on his clothes, he looks very regal.

The shading is absolutely dynamic as usual- awesome job, although... the color is a tad thrown off by the kimono and the background. I don't think they go very well... otherwise, I think you did very well ^^
