the legs to me sort of seem off,I beileveΒ maybe a more horse anthro would look a lot better in plush. But honestly nice work on stitching and sculptingΒ

That is a good position to have. Have you looked at BSP's latest designs for tweaks tho? Also I have to say that this girl is way better than 99% of BSP's work

I referenced plushies from a lot of makers, BSP included haha. Despite what people think about her I think some of the body shapes are actually pretty decent.

I know right, it has just been a while since I looked at the market. I hope this wonderful exchange of plush ideas continues into the far future.

Once again you have outpaced the competition in terms of cuddlability in new designs. Though I do think that have more horse like legs that end in hooves would look better on her, especially if you know how to do hooves better than feet. I really have no dog in this fight as I'm not a hoof or foot guy so I hope both designs work out for you!

Thanks! Yeah this one was pretty tricky to sew, lots of pieces and some little tiny spots that I had to hand sew instead of doing it with my machine. Hoping some of those areas become easier when it's all scaled up a little bit.

Thanks. No clothes since this was basically a test plush that I didn't want to spend too much time on.

Oh wow! Even though I'm not a huge fan of anthro designs (sorry), I think she looks really good.
As always, I really like her head. Sure, the horn is a little bit big, but it might just have something to do with you being used to making bigger sizes?
Eyes, muzzle, ears and smile are just perfect.
I know it's just a matter of taste, but personally, I think her breasts are a little bit too big. But that's probably just me
Also, hands! I'm pretty sure Lyra is super envious! haha. Overall they look really well done to me.
The feet could be a bit more human-like though, and have toes maybe?
I think you've got the overall body shape down just perfect. Limbs, shoulders, waist and hips all look really great!
I realize this is only just a prototype, but I think that a dress that matches her mane would look truly amazing on her.
Like I said, I prefer the quad pony designs so please take my criticisms with a bucket of salt.
You've got some serious skill though, keep it up!

Thanks man, I really appreciate you going out of your way to give me all this feedback! ^_^ I'll go over all of it here below:
Although popped stitches can happen on any plush, it seems like it's pretty rare on the ones I make as I use a triple stitch on almost all parts of the body, and then on anything that's hand sewn I go over it at least twice, sometimes more than that on like the tail or high stress areas where I can go over them even like 4 times. I do try to make them as durable as I can anyways.
I actually do have a pattern made for multiple breast sizes already. What I'm thinking I'm going to do is just have 2 or maaaybe 3 different sizes available. I did make another test body after this Twilight which had considerably larger breasts which would be the "large" option. I was thinking this one might be the "small" one but if you and other people feel like this one is already on the larger side I would probably either make it a bit smaller or just introduce a third size. Feedback on things like this sure helps as everyone has their own opinions on this! I've heard of talk behind use of silicone but I just have a hard time seeing how to get that to work as I would need it to conform perfectly to the shape which I just don't see happening. Maybe it's something I'll need to look into more though.
Totally agree with you on the horn. I tend to oversize horns, especially with Twilight as I kind of like her with a longer horn even though it's not canon. But even with my preference I still made it too big. Not too terribly concerned with it on this particular plush as like I said I rushed a lot of things like that and the ears too which don't look too great but it just wasn't my focus on getting them perfect. I guess if someone wanted a hard horn I could just stuff it very firmly. first time I've heard of an idea like that though hehe.
I thought the overall size of the wings looked okay, but yeah they are kinda flat due to the style I made. On larger plushies I usually make the 'cap' piece separate and then sewn on top of the rest of the wing which gives it some extra volume. Not on this one though as that takes quite a bit of extra time that I didn't want to spend, and it would have been a little tricky due to the smaller size anyways. Open wings is something I always have available if people want them, but one thing to point out is that they'll sure get in the way of putting clothes on an anthro style plush. You'd probably have to modify a shirt in some way to get it to fit over big wings unless you just fold them up and stick them inside or something. But either way I make them if people want them. I wanted to make open wings for this Twi but didn't due to time constraints. Fully embroidered closed wings are really quick to make in comparison.
I do NSFW modifications yes but I leave further details along with pricing to be discussed only in private if you wanted to send me a note or email about it.
I'm expecting the hand stuffing thing to pose a problem when I try to make the pattern for the life size version that will have individual fingers and what not. It's just the nature of stuffing, it doesn't like sitting flat and will balloon out in all directions which will make the palm of the hand be thicker than the fingers. I have a couple ideas in mind to try to combat this but I'm not sure how well it'll work. I am aware of this issue though. This plush in particular has the 4 fingers stitched together but with a separate thumb due to the small size. The fingers are reaaaally tiny and I don't see how I could possibly stitch between them at this size.
I should have clarified this further as I did have someone else asking the same question. For the semi-anthro version (thats what I'm gonna call it) with the hooves, it's gonna be more akin to a bipedal pony. The legs are going to totally different from this one and will have the proper pony leg anatomy. I don't expect this to be too difficult to make as I'm going to try setting it up so that the whole torso part of my pattern will be interchangable between the two where I only change the legs and arms out. That's the hope anyways hehe. This would mean that the limbs would be interchangable so you could have hands but pony legs if you wanted, like a satyr. Wouldn't be any extra work for me to do at all if I have both of the patterns already made.
Yeah the feet on this one are pretty much without detail. I tried hand stitching in some toes but it didn't look very good so I just seam ripped it back out. I'm going to be doing extensive pattern tests for both the hands and the feet before I make my first life size version of it, with the hope that I can get an actual foot shape with individual toes and such. I'm expecting those to be the hardest part of making these plushies though.
As for pricing, that's something I won't know until I make my first life size version and have all the details figured out. Things like how I'm going to do the armature, how expensive those materials will be and how time consuming it is to rig, and then how difficult the hands and feet will be to make, etc. I'm hoping to price them somewhere around my other life size ponies but I'm expecting it's going to be quite a bit more difficult and time consuming to make. Time frame is going to be several months at least as I still have quite a few commissions going on right now which I really need to get back to. My fiddling around with this pattern set me back longer than it should have already!

I wonder if there's a way to make the breasts with fewer seams, they look a little... surgically done. lol

fair enough
this explains why there are very few anthro artists
breasts are very difficult to make look good in plush form

She's beautiful!
I like the pattern already
Her horn seems to be a little thick and big for her head
Did you put wire in her arms for posing?
