Description
Here's the final page of the 7 page comic book I did with and for our mythology class. The idea was to take the Olympian gods and transplant them into the hotel business of the modern world. The concept, script and lettering was done by Chris ([link]) and the flats were the work of David ([link]) So if you want to compliment either the writing or the colors, you need to go to their pages to do it! The pencils were done by yours truly. We all worked on the story together, and hopefully we can do another one. It was so much fun, and I think the end product is really hilarious.If you don't know much about Greek mythology, here are really quick summaries of the characters on this page:
Zeus: King of the gods; thunder-bearer; seducer of beautiful women
Hermes: Messenger of the gods; somewhat mischievous
Aphrodite: Goddess of love and beauty, seducer of... everyone
Muses: Nine sister goddesses; each had the focus of a specific art (ex: poetry, comedy, history, etc)
Apollo: God of music and poetry; associated with the sun, temple at Delphi

So funny, I especially loved the last bit about Hermes almost "Stealing" Apollo's bag-made of cattle! And then giving him the lyre!

This is awesome! I love this comic -- it was hilarious, well-done, and very clean. I truly enjoyed reading it! (And, being a devotee of Apollo... haha, it's so true.)

This comic is AWESOME!!! The characters are all hilarious! And I loved all the little in-jokes you slipped in, like Zeus saying Athena is "such a headache" (she was born from his skull) or Hera telling Semele "you should see him in all his glory" (which would kill her). Everything is REALLY clever and well-written! I loved it!!!

HEHEHE...what I loved most (beside the coloring and the rendition of it) was the way that the old Gods got transplanted into the modern era...loved it. everything fit perfectly. What was it, not the Wyrd Sisters, but...uh...my mind's mush, oh, Hades and his wife with the eating disorder!

"FREEBIRD!!!" i heard that one too many times at a Skynard concert i went to a few months ago. eesh...not an experience i want to repeat...and hermes is getting his share of the ladies i see. kind of, then again, aphrodite likes to flirt. alot. great job, just incredible.

I wish I could take credit for that joke, but it was all Chris He really was the driving force behind the story and getting this thing done. Plus, his writing is just hilarious. His page 7 is at [link] if you want to tell him.
As a side note, the offspring of Hermes and Aphrodite is Hermaphroditus... take a wild guess how that turns out.

Reading some of these comments, I wonder if I shouldn't post an explaination of all the jokes for those that aren't as familiar with the myths. People might enjoy the series that much more if they knew all the little side-stories that accompany the gags (i.e. In the original myths, Zeus forced Hermes to give Apollo the lyre as payment for Hermes' having stolen several of Apollo's cattle...you can see our interpretation of that story play out on this page!). Megan, everybody else...would you guys like that?

you work is awesome, i'd buy a copy of this if you had one to sell. i love myths and you did such an awesome job, your style is so great. and the hermaphroditus story is one of my favourite in greek mythology, yay, i'm glad i'm not the only dork who knows that. *giggle*

I loved it. It's amazing. I love the way the personalities fit with those of the gods/esses. It just works so well and the way they fit into the plot and modern roles. It's awesome. I faved every page. Love it. ^^ And Apollo... you couldn't have done better. :laughs: They're all awesome.
