Donnie had gone though that strange gateway and found himself in the world of the Fae. Unlike with humans they think he’s an adorable baby dragon and promptly ooh and aww over him. Their calming feel about them makes Donnie just melt in their presences. Having never seen a dragon before they think they are huge fire breathing creatures so they absolutely want this little baby dragon to stick around so when he grows up he will still be loyal to the Fae. However they let him go for fear of angering the parents.
