Well after years it's finally here -_-' Seriously years I started making this as a b-day present for my sister in 2007-I tried to finish just before I left to Portugal didn't happen, and then it took me a while to finish it when I got back, seriously I'd just sit and stare at it not knowing what direction to take with it, or if I'd mess it up if I tried anything.So here we have WICKED definitely up there on the amazing musicals list. I love it, I fell in love with it in 2004-only knowing the music, and then to actually see it was even better. I think I'm improving but still not the best-I tried >.> that's all right, it was enjoyable to do. Again another acrylic and colored pencil piece. I seem to have more patience for the acrylics...I think.

I got to see this picture progress from the beginning to the end. And wow all that work was worth it. My favorite part of the picture is the faces. I love the details of the faces in the shadowing. I think you did an amazing job, you also were always good at painting, it really adds to the picture. Well done my friend well done!

She did, I hope, I don't know it took me forever to complete so she saw it before it was done, so I think that took away some of the excitement. I don't know I had fun with it, it was hard many minutes of just staring at it and not knowing where to go with it.

that is always so difficult, just staring at things and wondering "so... what do I do?..." I find I do that all too often and then just end up scrapping the idea entierly

First a question: What types of colored pencils are you using?
Then a tip: Colored pencils are designed to be layered and really work best when you're using multiple colors to produce one, creating a more vibrant hue that is less saturated or drab than the original straight pencil.

Oh yes, you should be able to get a lot more depth and pop out of the pencils, even with a simple twelve-pack. I know you saw some of the hours I put into that texture piece for 2D design and that was with just a pack of 24 staedtlers. I do have a tutorial glossing over how I work with colored pencils on DA, which probably needs to be updated, but a lot of it still applies to how I work.

It's the untold story of the witches of OZ. It's basically about Elphaba (wicked witch of the west) and how she came to be so-but there's a definite twist to it all, it's really good.
