Description Order: Saurisuchia
Suborder: Theropod
Infraorder: Coelurosauria
Family: Dromeosauridae
Subfamily: Pyrosaurinae
Species: Iraraptor volitans (The Wrathful Flying Plunderer)

The 'Rath' wyverns are one of the most prolific species of flying wyvern to exist, able to conquer almost all environments, save for the colder climes like the Tundra. Although considered 'flying wyverns' the Rath wyverns have many shared characteristics with the more maniraptorial wyverns, such as the Bird wyverns. The Rathian for example, has quill-like feathers gracing her wrists and shoulders, despite the fact they have given up feather powered flight for more sturdy and permanent membranes. Their second and third digits have elongated and conjoined to form the long, dual clawed digital that makes up a large length of their wings, with 'psuedo-digits' forming additional support, complete with claw like osteoderms both along the outside of the primary digit, and tipping the end of the 'psuedo-digits' within the membrane.

The female, known commonly as the Rathian, is mottled green and brown, a form of camouflage. Her features are more straight and slender than those of her counterpart, the Rathalos. Rathians, though capable of flight, prefer to hunt on land, running down and charging at prey.

They have 2 known subspecies, a bright to pastel pink variant, native to temperate zones where species of Prunus (Cherry blossom) bloom, as their coloration acts surprisingly well as camouflage. The second, a brilliantly iridescent and metallic gold variant, living in extremely remote locales, and considered incredibly rare.

The long spike at the end of her jaw is much larger than that of her male counterparts, and has been theorized to aid in feeding young.

That's how I do them. It's the smallest leap to make as apposed to them being hadrosaurs or sauropods.
