DC superheroine Mari Jiwe "Vixen" McCabe visits her friend and former teammate in the Justice League Detroit Cynthia "Gypsy" Reynolds at her and her boyfriend Cisco "Vibe" Ramon's place. In the realxed atmosphere of Cindy's sitting room, the talking point suddenly shifts to -- you guessed it right -- the two women's feet.

C - «Sweet Mary! I had never noticed how big your feet are!»
M - «Oh... Well, they're a size 11. Not bad, right? But they're still smaller than yours!»

C - «Yup! These huge fellas of mine are a size 12! It's only natural, I think. It's not like I was a fan of shoes while growing up.»

M - «Don't tell me about that! I grew up barefoot in the savannahs of Zambezi.»

C - «And I grew up barefoot on the streets of Detroit.»

M - «...»

C - «What?»

M - «... Wow, that's actually a lot rougher!»

C - «Ah ah! Yeah, you're right. Nothing like the urban jungle to get some thick skin on your soles.»

M - «Callous soles are the worst! When I came to the States, it took months of weekly pedicures to make my feet look half-way decent. It's hard to be a fashion model when your feet are not presentable.»

C - «Oh, they ain't so bad if you have to walk all day on coarse sidewalks... sometimes even coarse, boiling sidewalks. But now that I live with Cisco, I must say I too have taken some delight in getting pedicures.»

M - «Right, I had noticed your sole didn't feel even halfway as ruined as I expected. Took some trips to a center recently?»

C - «Oh, I don't go to centers or spas or whatever. All of my pedicures are home-made.»

M - «Cisco?»

C - «Yup!»

M - «Well, he could have a career at hand. What does he use to make them so smooth?»

C - «Well, the usual things, I guess: pumice, baby oil, scented balm... and tongue. Lots and lots of tongue.»

M - «Really!»

C - «Why, did you think Cisco hadn't noticed my feet, too?»
