I don't even know. I just had a baaad itch for realism, but I also wanted to experiment, but I was also sad and then watched some of Mark's sketch comedy and realised I'll make mooooore fanart, but i didn't care. xDAlso those eyes changed a whole rainbow of colours, so don't even ask why they ended up pink. This whole picture was just an experiment with dreamy atmosphere.Β

Indeed this was rushed, and I was lazy to render the details as far as I actually can. But the way shirt blends with the background was intentional. I went for a dreamy feel where nothing is really defined and all is kinda unified by the bright light. Well, as in a peaceful, pleasant dream. I suppose I didn't get to that effect as good as I intended to.

This looks absolutely stunning! I really love it, and here's why.
First off, the theme. Mark is one of my favourite YouTubers, next to Jack, and since pink was his hair colour for some time this works really well.
Next, the looks and the pose. You went for realism and you absolutey nailed it! I instantly recognized him even without looking at the title, your image almost looks like a photograph. His pose and expression go really well with his character, because I see kindness in his eyes and even the small hint of a smile that made me love him so much. His beard and slightly messy hair complement this picture of him, and his eyes, while being a very bright colour, are still pretty centered, which leads the viewers gaze towards his face, the most important part.
Then, the colours. I love the contrast of pink and blue, both also being colours that we've come to associate with the channel. Going for a lighter blue instead of the strong neon blue that was in his hair was also a good idea, because I kind of see the pink as a symbol for his energetic and engaged side, which he shows while playing video games or sketches, and the light blue as his calm, collected side, which he shows while doing vlogs and just talking to us about things that might bother him or get him down. Plus, these two colours add an otherworldly touch to this picture along with the white sparkles in the background, which I really like when looking at art.
All in all, this picture is amazing! The lineart, choice of colours and shading is perfect, and I really hope that Mark will see this one day. Until then, I wish you good luck with future projects, keep up the great work!

Realism is kinda my thing, everything else I'm very new at. heh But it's so nice to hear positive comments like this, it means so much!Β
Honestly, I never consciously thought about my choice of colours in this painting, but after a day from finishing, I looked at it and could piece together pretty much the same feel about his personality. I'm glad to know it wasn't all in my head, and it actually does reflect how Mark is in some way.Β
