Description
The ~potterart club is holding a create-your-own-illegal-hybrid contest. W00t! This is one of the ideas I rejected, as centaurs and merrows (the mermaids common to Scotland's lochs) are Beings rather than Creatures - according to the Potterverse, at least.
But I like the design and I may just finish this one up for the heck of it.

It's the same basic principle; he just has a human torso/head instead of just a horse's head.

Not in this case. The initial design was to lay out the basic anatomy; a finished version would be more finny so that it would definitely read "fish". I figure with all of that mass in the tail, he'd probably have a really difficult time moving around on land. Might be able to get some air if he jumped out of the water, though...
