Hello! I'm from ProjectComment . The fish spirits in this piece are very eye catching! I immediately wanted to take a look at the whole artwork~

The composition in this is very nice and balanced! I really like how the fish spirits guide the viewers eyes and create some depth by appearing closer to the camera or disappearing behind the island. Good job!

The concept of this piece is really nice as well. The island seems very mysterious and the castle and the forest seem to be inspired by Medieval European themes, while the fish spirits, sea and the sunset in the background as well as the overall style seems inspired by Japanese art. This contrast looks very interesting, but there is harmony in the way you portrayed these themes and I'm quite surprised by how well this works! Amazing!

One thing you could improve though is the color balance in this piece. While the fish spirits are very bright and stand out, the background is very dark and I feel like there should be more mid tones. Especially when looking at this piece in greyscale, the island, sea and background are very close in value and it's pretty hard to distinguish between different parts and I feel like a lot of detail is lost this way.
I probably would’ve gone for brighter, less saturated and rich colors, and added some mid tones, so that there is a balance between light, mid and dark tones. Brighter colors could change the overall mood of the image, but if you play with tonal correction and add some brightness and contrast, the island and its details become more visible. (<-- like this for example. I just added a bit more brightness and contrast~ The image is stored in my stash and I gave credit to you in the description and title, but I'll take it down asap if you want me to)

The fish spirits will still be the center of attention, but I feel like it's a bit easier on the eyes and the viewer will see more of the awesome island and background

The spirits seem angry. It won't be long until that landmass is completely submerged.
