Description
Small art trade with my dear friend
It's Mina, character from one of her stories. It's not a best picture but I put lot of heart in making it.
I hed a long break with cg so I keep making some experiments with painting techniques.
Title is based on a lovely Miho Fukuhara's song

I think you have a few inconsistencies in the lighting. Her sleeves are lit from the left, her left shoulder (right of picture) shows top light, and her eyes have a top right highlight.

For me, the head isn't fitting very well with the rest of the picture. But I love all the draw \o/

Even though I like to draw and write I can only ever describe backgrounds in the stories. I kind of get into of a habit of doing everything in opposite. With writing I'm good at telling a story and describing backgrounds and emotions but i can't describe a character's physical appearance without feeling that the description is lacking and dull. Then in art, I'm getting better at drawing people and I can get creative and give them different kinds of outfits but I can never get so detailed as to think of adding something simple like berries to the picture. In fact, I have so much difficult just drawing a background that I can't even think of where to begin.
So all and all, when I see a picture like this come up it reminds me of my desire to perfect both my art and my writing. A picture like this one fuels my want to grab my tablet and draw away. Only pictures like these blow me away and I feel lost. I have no idea where to even begin drawing a picture so well thought out and balanced as this. I know I just need to practice, because I know I have it buried in me somewhere, but I have no idea where to start so I can utilize and enhance my own ability.
Back to my original statement. This picture is beyond lovely. It's inspiring.

Woah, thank you so much for this comment. I'm not a very confident person so words like this are really motivating to me. There's nothing nicer to hear than opinion that my pictures are inspiring.
I also create stories, so I know how you feel. I even never pictured most of my characters even if deep inside my head I know how they should look like...
Anyway, let's wish lot of work and improvement for both of us in incoming year
