Yaaay, I finally came around to doing this.
It's a gift art for my friend, I promised her a picture of our two characters performing together. 
On left is my character, "Seth", and on the right is her character, "Clyde". I'm in love with Clyde. 
I highly encourage you guys to check out her gallery if you're a big fan of bright colors and Goth/Punk/Metal characters. I'm hoping she finds a Japanese-to-English translator soon for her manga, "Spree Killer". I'd do it, but my Japanese is rusty and terrible.
Anyway, I needed something with an explosive, Dadaist feel. My life has been getting complicated and frustrating lately.
I even used the lyrics of a song I keep listening to during my down times (the person who guesses the song and band who performed it gets a free postcard print of this - although, I can only ship within the states). So I guess this work is fueled by my desire to escape from this confusing time in my life.I think that's the incredible thing about art. And I'm not just talking about drawing/painting. I'm talking books, videogames, and movies too. Any time I get depressed I find myself always escaping to *some* type of artform. Of course, there really is no escape, only temporary comfort. Still, at least it's something right?

I finally figured out what this REALLY reminds me of. I've been staring at it for ages, trying to figure out the familiarity.
It reminds me of the cover art for Nana!
But with boys instead of girls.
This is definitely the kind of comment everyone hates reading, [link] But I think you might have been channeling some Ai Yazawa. Nana is even about musicians.

I just adore how this is appears so deliberately gritty and messy. Despite how chaotic it looks every single splatter and line also looks like it was places just so. As if you were controling chaos if you will
Both characters expressions are so different yet each one you can tell is into their music. 
I really would expect to see this on a wall somewhere advertising something amazing (probably a band, but anything really)

fff now I feel special! I go through the watch list as well about every month or so to clear out my "friends" Some are just a waste of space sometimes, I do not want to sound mean or rude but I get upset when they do not talk to me and I comment on all of their things. Seriously...The way the art itself flows with such a formality that causes passion to overflow through my body when I see this...it's breath taking...Well done indeed and this was without a doubt considered as "Art". Good luck getting the life business sorted out.. you know I actually just realized now with your description how much I escape into those artforms as well. Art, writing, games, books.. particularly in the last summer. I always knew the art and writing as escapes, but the others it took me until now to realize how much comfort they are, even now.

Aw, yes. You'd be surprised how we all find refuge in something art-related. I dare to say art can also be like a drug too. I know, many times, I'll draw something and get a 'high' off of what I just did, which will get my mind off of stress for a brief moment (like now). Then I crash, feel depressed, and try to create something better than the previous work, just so I can get a bigger 'high' and feel happier about myself. It's a never-ending cycle and, quite honestly, I fear I'll never be happy with my art or find balance in my overall life. :/

Art is a wonderful way to express emotion... it's one of the few ways someone can put raw feeling into something and actually let it have a meaning.

Yeah, I believe art serves many functions. Among them is translating a raw human emotion down onto paper. That's what Van Gogh and the rest of the lot taught us anyway.
