Description An illustration of Feather Island, from l’Île de la Félicité by Fanny Beauharnais, written in 1786.
The inhabitants of this island are all female. The nobility grow feathers instead of hair, the colors of which distinguish their rank. The lower class have human hair. Nobility hatch from eggs, live 1000 years, and then turn into mist. Servants grow from hairy caterpillar eggs and live normal lifespans.
