Lauren started acting at the age of sixteen when her parents relocated from Nebraska to California. Discovered at a talent search in Los Angeles, Lauren got her first role playing a troubled teen on a hit crime procedural on prime time television. She won her first Emmy at the age of seventeen. At nineteen she portrayed the daughter of a crime boss in the movie Crime Pays. Nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress but lost. However, she did win her first Golden Globe for that performance. Two years later Lauren won the Oscar for Best Actress for her role as Princess Marcella in the movie Behind Castle Walls. Afterwards she joined the cast of an ensemble sitcom which ran for the next five years winning her second Emmy and Golden Globe during the show's run. Due to a contract dispute, she left after the fifth season to star in four Rom Coms including her recent role in Denise Jackson's directorial debut. Eager to get back to the small screen and acting in a series, Lauren will take the role of Mina Kage in upcoming series Interstellar Bounty Hunters set to begin in 2023.
